  1. Hey if you're cooking it you can call it anything you want What do you call a bedroom with no bed in it?
  2. Because it's much more polite to stop and offer him a ride What happens to an 18 hour bra after 18 hours?
  3. Great question Allen but you're right about every quit being different. For me I think the irritability lasted about a month. However the constant thinking about cigarettes lasted longer, probably a good two or three months. As far as the craves, they still come from time to time however they are so weak that they're easily ignored. I think as addicts we can probably anticipate craves for years but after the first year and getting through all the seasons, holidays etc. any crave we do get is laughable.
  4. Hey kdad, congrats on day 2, I thought we had lost you already so thanks for checking in
  5. Yay on 48 hours TobacNo I loved watching my ticker too, crazy that we never thought of those numbers when we smoked huh?!
  6. Hi Sierra, you've been given great advice. Pledging NOPE everyday, just for that day is what helped me as well as taking the one year pledge. It's promising to check in daily, if nothing more than to NOPE, for a complete year. This helps us get past all the seasons that can trigger a crave. Also posting SOS BEFORE you smoke so that you give us a chance to get you past that crave. We have a lot of members here, in a lot of different phases of quitting who can offer you some great clues to keep you smoke free
  7. Gosh do I!!! I also remember burning holes in my favorite cloths. Never when I was wearing work cloths though lol.
  8. Congratulations on 8 months Kermit!
  9. Almost a month already, that's awesome! If the tickets are too frustrating to mess with you could just go to your profile page and click edit profile and you'll see where you can put in your quit date. After all you did quit last month, not today so own that and be proud of yourself for it
  10. Well you have a great support system here with us Mw so just give a shout out if you need us and we'll be there with an ear to lend and advice if needed/wanted
  11. Isn't it fantastic the benefits we realise once we quit?! How far along are you now Parsley? Your quit date still says today lol
  12. Welcome MwBenson and congratulations on 30 days smoke free. That's awesome We have lots of members who have successfully quit with the help of NRT's so no shame in that game, it's all about whatever works for you
  13. You're doing great Linda, glad you're taking advantage of all the different areas of the forum. It really helps keep your mind off the misery doesn't it
  14. @c9jane29, don't worry, yours is wayyy better looking than those kid's cakes were lol ?
  15. That's awesome Jane, I just watched the finale of Kids Baking Championship last night and their final challenge was a rainbow cake
  16. I see yours @Doreensfree And mine lol
  17. Why do people say IRL like being online isn't real life?
  18. I was three years old when that came out so it's hard for me to blame big tobacco for my getting hooked on cigarettes. I have no one to blame but myself. Great find jo, thanks
  19. Good morning Nik, the insomnia and constant thoughts of cigarettes are both totally normal right now. For me the sleeping got back to normal sooner than the thoughts but we're all different. Keeping your mind busy with other things helps for the thoughts. It won't be long before you wake up in the best mood you've been in in years and a cigarette won't be the first thing you think of
  20. Our airships only last a weekend. They fly in Thursday and Friday and the show is Saturday and Sunday.
  21. Welcome kdad and congrats on deciding to quit. You'll find a ton of support here so make yourself comfy and lean on us as much as you need
  22. For some reason Jim, I really can't see you doing the self loathing thing lol
  23. Hi TobacNo, welcome to the train and congratulations on taking back your life I smoked since high school too and continued for the next 35 years so if I can quit so can you Joining a forum imo is why I was able to succeed and I hope you find the same to be true because no one knows what we go through when quitting better than a group of fellow ex smokers right?!
  24. Lmao @reciprocity, our paper hyped them up like they were comparable to the Blue Angels or air force Thunderbirds. https://santamariatimes.com/news/local/snowbirds-demonstration-team-to-soar-over-santa-maria-during-central/article_b8324be8-dab4-5c2d-abed-fcb0d3f3662b.html#tracking-source=home-top-story-1

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
