  1. Yay Sparkzzz, welcome to the Old Phartes club! It's been a pleasure watching your journey to that first year quit

    Pre-Quit Post

Glad you have decided to quit again before your birthday Lily, what a nice gift to give yourself One thing that really helped me prepare was to quit smoking where I normally would. This helped me disassociate those places with smoking and I didn't crave when I walked into that particular area

@notsmokinjo, the white meat is usually drier than the dark meat and like Shane said is the chicken/turkey breasts. The dark meat is wings, legs, thighs. The dark meat is much more tender and flavorful imo than the white but it's all personal preference. My advice to you is don't say anything to the family or else they are going to work hard on figuring out what they like best, white or dark and the next thing you know it's anarchy!

    Dear Sazerac

Sorry to hear you relapsed Lily. And I'm sure Sazerac will appreciate you reaching out to her to publicly apologize. Over reacting goes with the territory in the early days of quitting so I'm sure she understood and didn't get upset by it. Heck I've said way worse lol And like Jane said, don't wait until you get a quit intact. Come here from the start like I wish I had. We don't want you going through those early struggles alone. I hope to see you back and quit sooner than later!
  7. Hopefully he just doesn't have internet again and is still doing good. @MwBenson, we're thinking about you
  8. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this Parsley I have huge respect for you awesome quitters who still live with a smoker, I'm not sure I would have been able to quit if I had to so hats off to you
  9. Welcome Time2change and congratulations on deciding to take back your life. I was a 35 year smoker so you're in good company with us. No one knows better than us what this quitting thing takes and just as everyone saw me through the tough days, we will be here to see you through

    Uh Oh

Sorry about your rough patch Linda and I hope venting about it helps. It sure helped me. I'm sending you a ton of positive vibes and congrats on getting your brother to manage your dad if only to get him to the restaurant. At least it gave you a tiny break
  11. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
  12. Congratulations Jayhawk!
  13. Congratulations on 11 months of awesomeness weegie, what a fabulous way to celebrate your quit by going to Greece In celebration I have joined the Greeks in dancing the zorba in your honor
  14. Yay you! So happy for you, like my uncle use to say, "you done good kid"
  15. Im guessing it's the first time that has happened and that's the reason for the trigger. Throw them away like whispers said but first drown them in water. Then give yourself a big pat on the back for being so strong
  16. Hey CAquitter, you don't want to give in and I know this because if you really wanted to you wouldn't have posted. You got this!
  17. I was looking for a pic of maggots in a wound and they were grossing me out so much I stopped lol. But that's my NOPE!
  18. Congratulations on 9 months Octain, that tv sounds like a great reward on your one year anniversary
  19. Glad to see you back already zenith, you deserve it! And just remember when one door closes another one opens. As far as relationships, I learned a long time ago that if it was meant to be it would have been. You'll find your perfect someone when you least expect it, and you've just opened up the dating field to many more possibilities as an ex smoker
  20. Yes @DragonsFancy I noticed some stuff wasn't as good as I thought either. Congratulations on getting your taste buds back
  21. Oops, sorry......
  22. Hmmm, I like them both too. Why can't you put one option on the front of the shirt and one on the back? Maybe 1% on the front where the pocket would be and NOPE12 on the back?
  23. Sorry to hear that zenith ? The best revenge for a break up is quitting smoking and getting healthy. Hopefully you'll get back to your quit sooner than later. Thanks for letting us know....
  24. Glad you're checking in with your Dr mlmr, hopefully you guys can come up with a plan that helps you feel better

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
