  1. Yay kdad, congratulations on being done with the hardest month of them all! I hope you celebrate today and do something special for yourself
  2. Welcome ky, congratulations on almost a month quit. You're almost done with the hardest month of all We smoked for a long time, myself 35 years, so it's normal that there are a lot of emotional ties to smoking that need to be cut. The good news is that as each time is cut we get stronger emotionally. So with each week that goes by it will get better, I promise
  3. That's a bummer Christine but when you're truly ready to quit you'll do anything you can to protect each and every day you have smoke free. I stayed close to home the first month or two and only ventured out if my never smoked husband went with me because I didn't trust myself not to cave to a crave. I also was glued 24/7 to my forum, posted a couple SOS's even though my vanity didn't let me actually put SOS in the title. I made sure though to word it so members knew I needed some support and they were there for me. So when you're truly ready to quit, we'll be there for you too. So my final answer to what is the hardest part of quitting? It's deciding that you're ready.
  4. That's awesome parsley and another benefit of quitting I didn't notice a big change in my skin but a lot of people get quit zits when first quitting. But I guess those could be from the extra sugar we crave when we quit too.
  5. I think reci's working on finding a better one
  6. @Sazerac, in Florida it's standard procedure I guess. My mom has patches every time she goes to the hospital and my dad had patches applied in the hospital even though he had hours left to live. Maybe it's too keep them comfortable?
  7. It gets even better whispers!
  8. @reciprocity, my mom got very sick in March and was in ICU not expected to make it. We were very lucky in that she pulled through but the first thing she wanted when she came out of her coma was a cigarette ? The fact that she almost died had no effect on her to quit smoking ? And in Florida if you tell them, like my sister did, that she's a smoker they put patches on her, even though she was in a coma!!!
  9. Wait, didn't we just celebrate your one month smoke free @christine 12?
  10. Reci, you know as well as anyone that you can't tell a smoker to quit. If you could I would have quit in my twenties when everyone was telling me to. ?
  11. It is really good, I've been watching it from the start
  12. Have you seen the series You? It's really good too!
  13. Yes it was good @Whispers The Purge tonight
  14. Glad your first trip as an ex smoker went well parsley
  15. Congratulations on 11 months smoke free Kelly!
  16. I'll share mine
  17. Is it one of those kinda days catlover?
  18. I'm finalizing the guest list
  19. Hi Pumpkin, please don't worry about letting us down. Quitting is tough but I found that being active with a support community really helped me keep my eye on the prize. There will never be an ideal time to quit if nicotine has its way. It will use any excuse to suck you back in. We all have struggles but have found it in ourselves to stay the course and quit this terrible addiction. You can too! Stay close, and reach out any and every time you feel like you want to cave to a crave and we will try our best to get you through it. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
  20. Yay dragonsFancy, congratulations on two weeks free! Youre now half way through the hardest month of all
  21. We love our Ugg boots here and I'm thinking after hiking all day Uggs would be pretty comfy for the feet and warm since our nights are pretty chilly this time of year. Wimbledon because how the heck are you going to get it here?
  22. A virtual hug coming your way Linda, I hope you enjoy your week free of them. I guess they are proof that money doesn't buy happiness. FYI, you can always leave them at the casino lol
  23. Congratulations on six years Cristobal, your posts have been so inspirational to so many on both quittrain and qsmb. And being fairly new here it's been my pleasure getting to know you better. I hope you celebrate today and looking forward to attending one of your famous wine parties I keep hearing about
  24. Sunshine, because it's nearly impossible to get over there and we have plenty of our own here

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
