  1. I was always a deep sleeper so insomnia after quitting was a shock. It never returned to the previous state, I wake up almost every night. It got truly bad since I moved to this country.
  2. My condolences, I am terribly sorry for your loss.
  3. I had the same with being home and out. Out I did manage, at home I couldn't find my place. The easiest thing, hmm, this whole quit turned out to be easier than expected so for me the easiest part was quitting
  4. Congratulations!!! And thank you for being here for the newbies and less advanced
  5. Amazing! Those are the worst weeks and you've kept the quit! Congratulations!
  6. and there's less toxins in your body so your skin regenerates quicker
  7. Looking at the previous quits and this one, I think for me the most difficult part was to change the attitude to smoking. Previously I was feeling and acting as if I was losing something, this time it seems a more conscious decision. That change of mindset was the recipe for success in my case.
  8. First month usualy sucks, quits become better after that and the benefits more visible. Don't stop, you've achieved so much already!
  9. I never thought about health, was also lucky enough not to have serious issues. My impulse was new perfume that nobody could smell on me because of the cigarettes stench. Besides, i was feeling heavy and ugly. In other words, vanity made me quit ?
  10. Pumpkin, many people quit and relapse. The important thing is that you’re committed. I am sorry you’re having difficult time at the moment. Getting rid of the addiction might actually contribute positively. We are here for you.
  11. Well done! You’ve had a big FIRST as a non-smoker, that’s something to be proud of!
  12. Linda, I’m proud of you and your strength. You deserve all the praise for a) protecting your quit b) having the mindset when smoking is not an option. I send you hugs. I know how it is to be an extra in one parents’ life.
  13. About a month into this quit my whole life turned around and as a result I moved to another country. In the previous quit that would have been a perfect excuse, so much stress! This time, nothing of that. I am not happy with that move and want to change again, still, not smoking and the old me would have. Somehow it resonated with me that smoking will not solve the problem in question. If you ask me how is this quit different there wouldn’t be one answer but many tiny things that combine into something strong.
  14. 1. I was ashamed of being the only smoker in the group. 2. I was feeling ugly and disgusting. Past failures: 1. Thought I was enjoying it. 2. I sabotaged previous quit waiting for an excuse to smoke. I found it, obviously.
  15. Wonderful, Shane! Your quit is great and you’re great too!
  16. I remember how I once looked into the mirror and discovered my lips had a color! ?
  17. That’s so great! And sometimes such an example is what inspires other to quit so thank you, Parsley, on their behalf!
  18. T4C, first three days are hard. Thoughts race, body screams, everything is different and out of place. But it passes. It might seem unbearable at the moment but it passes and you’ll start seeing benefits of not smoking very soon, and discover you’re stronger and more awesome than you’d thought! We are here for you!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
