  1. Thank you! I am still going strong and I'm happier in my non-smoking than ever!
  2. the more the merrier! Hope you're ok healthwise!
  3. That's one of my favorite posts ever. In fact I've been thinking about it today, on the day of my tenth monthaversary. At this moment not-smoking is easy and obvious, almost effortless. First days, weeks, that takes courage, strenght and bravery.
  4. I sucked on mint candies thinking - stupidly - they'd hide the smell in my breath. Did it only with my parents who knew I smoked but didn't approve, so we were keeping on appearances. Only after quitting I realized how horribly does a smoker's body smell. I thought I smelled like fresh smoke but I were much more disgusting ?
  5. Congratulations, Niecie. You're strong.
  6. I had some romanticizing thoughts when I rewatched Fight Club a couple of months ago. Maybe because I smoked because of the clichees used in the movie, to be the bad and edgy one. Other films don't have such an impact.
  7. I compare quitting to emerging from a cocoon. We are enveloped in something, not very pretty, and afterwards we emerge, new, different. This concerns both body and mind. The first weeks after quitting were a chance to observe anxiety and depression as physical, not mental experiences. That was intense but also very helpful on the further road.
  8. Congratulations! Great job! That's the way to keep New Year resolutions!
  9. Congratulations!!! I remember when you joined QSMB with a group of New Years quitters. So few remain and you're one of them! Great job and awesome achievement!
  10. Congrats, Jo! Thank you for being here, your support and contribution. Many quits have been kept because of you! You're an amazing person.
  11. Congratulations Linda! That's a very important milestone and a great achievement. You've been so strong and determimed, you can be proud of yourself.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
