  1. Jules, awesome job -- half way to that year mark. Take time to celebrate!!!!
  2. Congrats, well done
  3. Kate, you are doing the right things -- just keep fighting. I too, would go to bed early in the first weeks of my quit and it did help (better to sleep than smoke) and this will pass. Deep breathing techniques and drinking cold water helped a lot. Also as smokingjo stated the straw cig helped a lot also. Remember to come here often to vent and to reach out -- we do not judge we only do our best to help you through.
  4. Welcome aboard for this journey Devo
  5. NTAP is "Never Take Another Puff". You see that a lot in Joel's videos. As to SNOT I searched and see that it means Smoking is Not an Option Today.
  6. Awesome job Grund, congrats --- you are getting closer to the lido deck
  7. NOPE!!!!
  8. I can totally relate to this. A year ago I could do no yard work. This year we have mowed the yard and other such work around the house and I was able to go out and help my son and grandchildren. I was a little out of shape but I was able to work and not gasp for air and like you I did not think about having a cigarette afterwords -- I actually used this moment as a kind of personal celebration and to reflect on where I had been. Damn this is good, re-enforces the fact that I do not want to ever smoke again.
  9. Peace Train awesome job, congrats on the 1 year -- take time to enjoy completely!!!
  10. NOPE!!!!
  11. Awesome work Ren -- remember to take some time to reflect and celebrate!!!!
  12. It is good that you had the strength and knowledge of what to do. I too have a couple of close calls like this and it has made me aware that I must be on guard all of the time for these sneaky craves, I just try to understand what may have triggered the crave. Good job you are doing well.
  13. NOPE!!!!
  14. Miss Dixie thank you so much for your post, it shows that we all have struggles with our quits. Your post shows one of the ways to overcome those struggles and that we should be aware of those and where to go.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
