  1. Welcome aboard Vinno, you will find great company on this journey ready and willing to help...
  2. NOPE!!!!
  3. And it gets so much better, believe in the power of "NOPE" --- It will carry you far along on this journey !!!!
  4. G -- Awesome post and it does place everything in the right perspective. We really do have to look to the future. I have 44 years of smoking and know that I have health issues but I cannot dwell on that ---- I have to think of how I am helping myself now and realize that whatever is ahead is better that what would have been if not for the Quit -- Thanks for sharing your thoughts
  5. 2 months, awesome job Seren, keep it going--
  6. Fantastic job on your 7 months Barry, take some time to celebrate
  7. Almost 3,000 -- this just blow me away that I smoked that much (it would have been more but I had gone from 2 pack a day to 1 pack a day a few months before my quit)
  8. I agree with all of the above. But what I love the most is the look my grandchildren give me now and how they have responded to my quitting -- hard to put in words but it is there.
  9. Kcb, welcome aboard for this journey -- One that will have its up and downs but we are here to help you along the way. I too was a long time smoker ( 44 years) and thought it could not be done but now I am over 4 months into my quit and enjoying each day more. This site has greatly helped me along the way, the people here are amazing. Remember to pledge NOPE daily (it really does help), also deep breathing techniques and lots of cold water will help. Hope to see more of you.
  10. Awesome on the 1 year quit. Enjoy the party on the Lido deck and savor the moment !!!!
  11. QT happy birthday, without you and the members I am not sure where I would be, but I know I am in a better place now -- Thank you!!!!
  12. Awesome job on that 1st month Rose -- take some time to reflect and celebrate -- then move on to that 2nd month -- it does get better (in so many ways)
  13. You are doing good things. Keep up the great attitude, come here often, and you will do this. Breath deep and drink plenty of cold water---
  14. TS this is a great milestone in your quit. Soon you will have to try and figure out the number of weeks. Just this last week I knew I was at 4 full months of no smoking but I had let the anniversary date go by without thinking about it until my celebration post came up from the pig lover. I felt really good about that. I am also going through the days now without thinking about smoking much (still creeps up a couple of times a day). These little milestones are important in our quit, it is proof that our minds are becoming rewired without the nicotine, that we are finding out that we can really do thins and conquer the monster!!!!
  15. Lml, Glad you are seeing both the positives and negatives on the roller coaster of this ride. Gather strength from both it will help you down the road. As each day and crave goes by you will get stronger and feel better -- Keep strong your are doing well!!!!
  16. Great job on the 7 months, you are going strong now. Take time to celebrate
  17. Half a year, awesome job Weegie. Keep up the great work and continue to enjoy some as you reflect and celebrate
  18. Awesome job on the 7 month quit JB. Take time and celebrate

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
