  11. your account cannot be closed. and really, lily...you need to go through ALL those posts and let reality sink in. The reasons behind your failure to quit are contained therein. No, it ain't pretty but, it is truth. Learn from the past. Examine all the garnets of information. You can't run from your past. You can start afresh WITH the knowledge you have gained from your failures. This is how we, as humans. succeed. Welcome back. Hope you build a strong and sturdy quit this time around.
  12. Look HD, Nicotine addiction changed our DNA. We will always, for our lifetime, be one puff away from igniting our addiction. Face this fact. It is just the way it is. The NOPE I pledge everyday with myself isn't done with the fervor of a new quit but it is not done with a smidgen of complacency. I will be an addict forever but, because I made the choice to put the addiction to sleep I can be also be a free person FOREVER These are simple truths that you must accept. You can choose all that addiction entails, of course. But, WHY ? You aren't an idiot.
  13. Hi JohnQ. So happy to hear your quit on the first. Nicotine will be pretty well out of your system by now. Exiting times ahead for you. Time to explore your freedom and confidence and trust in yourself. You quit smoking ! Awesome. I know addiction makes people weak and feel horrible that is the nature of it. You are not weak and will not be feeling horrible any more. Stay with us and count on us to watch your back, John. We all know what smoking was like and we all know what quitting feels like AND we all know how important our freedom is to us now. Welcome home. S

I found the cupboard, won't tell YOU. 1 good morning for torture ?
  19. Heather, you are avoiding NOPE pledge because you are obeying addiction. Please, in this case...DRINK THE NOPE KOOL_AID ! You don't need a friggin' plan.....just quit and live as a free person ! Get some happy going on ! Smoking Does Not Help You Overcome Stress. This is one of the basic tenets of nicotine addiction. Learn this. Understand this. Accept this.
  20. Remember erotic desires ?
  21. Let us accentuate the positive. Happiness generates more happiness and happiness also generates strength of purpose. You quit smoking. REJOICE ! Find your bliss and your power from each crave scorned, each trigger conquered. You can also use the power from your mind, the knowledge of nicotine addiction and the relief on your loved ones faces now that you've quit. There are many sources of power and strength, not all of them are innate. Find them and use to strengthen yourself.
  22. Setting Quit Dates Just quit, HeatherDianne and avoid the anticipatory stress...the addict's voice is not the voice you should be listening to. Hear that freedom ? It is right HERE, right NOW.
  23. A new one from Joel which addresses prolonging withdrawal symptoms with NRT's. The sooner nicotine is purged from your body, the quicker your mind and body can heal up to enjoy your freedom. Why Am I Still Experiencing Nicotine Withdrawals

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
