  1. God bakon fair play to you, that would have taken you forever to do but soo worth it, This is exactly what quitters need to be reading, it helps them to know it's totally normal to feel how they are feeling and to know that their is light at the end of the tunnel is like music to their ears, great to see by really the 4th month you had found your comfort, is great motivation for the newbies in first few days and weeks when it's hard to see the wood from the trees. I wish I had wrote my feelings down at the start, I would totally recommend anyone starting a quit to do, perfect to see how far you have come and when cravings hit helps to remind you how hard the start was and reminds you that you aint going back to day one ever. This should be added to the newbie package to get them to start doing the same and to see that someone else felt and went through exactly what they are going through. This and getting them to write their own sos would be extremely beneficial. Seriously thank you bakon for doing that, that is some amount of work you have put in, that's what paying it forward is all about, Respect xxx

  5. Thinking of you and yours J xxx Great post hun, My crutch for the first few weeks were soft mints, I lived on them but they did the job, straight after my dinner was one of the hardest times for me so my soft mints took over the "job" of my cigs, I'd eat a packet of them a day but they really were my saviour and in the evening I would eat pistachio nuts, loved having a load of smokes in ths evening when kids went to bed so the pistachios in the shell really got me through the nights, the mornings were my hardest, I loved my smoke and cuppa before kids woke up, that was the hardest one of all for me, I just ate a good breakfast and would have a shower first thing to help get me through the mornings, I found putting moisturisers on after shower seemed to really help me because I loved smelling yummy first thing so I didn't want to smoke and take the yummyness away. It took about a month to get use to and to cope with not smoking in the mornings but I swear to god I can't imagine having a cig first thing, it actually makes me feel ill thinking about it and I promise with all my heart it is soo much better now, the first 4-6 weeks I would have to drag myself out of bed and not want to get up because what was the point if I couldnt smoke but it got easier each day to now being repulsed at the the smell of smoke first thing, now I really enjoy my cuppa even more due to actually being able to taste it better because my taste buds might aswell have been dead for all the use they were as a smoker.

  12. That's fab news, delighted they are gone allready, I had them when I quit aswell, jesus I had them up until recent enough, I asked my doctor and he said it's alot to do with increased and improved circulation and blood flow, when you stop smoking you get soo much more blood so it causes all the blood blisters, also undiagnosed illness causes it, it's all part of my fibromyalgia and sjorgens syndrome, Glad you got it sorted, they are annoying little buggars, especially the ones on the tongue x

  20. Lol ye if the first post is just those sticks boosting their egos well I'm all for them putting a sock in it lol In all fairness it's got over 30 thousand views so people are clearly interested, I personally think its all good, it definitely helps distract me and i have no doubt others from thinking about smoking, it's pretty ideal for those new in their quits to get on and play it when they are having a crave and I bet they forget all about having a crave because it helped distract them for the few minutes. Tis all just a bit if harmless fun, well I think so in anyway xxx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
