This will be something special you and Maddie get to do this spring when her brother arrives. Have you grown veggies in the past. It is something I did and do with my grandson. I haven't done any gardening on my own, but spent a fair amount of time helping tend to my grandparent's garden when I was a kid. Mostly green beans, peas, and tomatoes. I was planning on growing muscadines here at the house a little while back but got sidetracked. I will probably get started on that next Spring.
February 9, 20224 yr Why is it that when we hurt a small part of our bodies they seem to hurt the worst. I once slammed a finger in the car door, so much blood and pain. Had to go to the ER and had the finger nail removed. Had an ingrown toenail and had to have it removed, OMG the pain after. Had a sparkler break off and hit the thumb nail. Burned a hole straight thru. ER again, so much pain. I never lit one of those again and refused to let my son be anywhere near them. I have had major surgery and not that much pain, OK so maybe the heavy pain meds did help LOL
February 14, 20224 yr Woke up today and realized I'm pretty sure I've been telling people I'm 58 all year and I'm 57 for at least a few more weeks. What the heck?!😂
February 19, 20224 yr Fixin to watch Avatar finally for the first time. Heard it was good and it has four stars so...🤔 Fun fact: I usually prefer the one star movies 😂😂
February 20, 20224 yr Made bbque beef sliders with a side of chips for dinner, yummy! In other news, is it weird that I found Jakes avatar kinda cute?🤔
February 20, 20224 yr Chicken w/lemon, caper cream sauce and asparagus here, decided to make real food. Been living on nacho cheese doritos and frosted miniwheats for days. Surfing the netflix for something to watch.
February 20, 20224 yr Gday mmmmm… got some frozen ham slices tucked away. Really thick juicy buggers. Double smoked. Some fresh asparagus. Make some cauliflower mash. Some Julianne carrot for sweetness. Your caper cream sauce sounds the “glue” to tie the meal together. Some low fat cream cheese, capers of course and a bit of mustard powder. mmmmmmm. Not cold here cause it’s still summer but a cold change has dropped the humidity drastically. Perfect for a change of meals from grilled meats and salads.

February 21, 20224 yr @Boo, that's not the movie I watched. Mine was just called Room and it was pretty good. Yours I think I'd have to be REALLY desperate for something to watch 😂
February 27, 20224 yr G’day I’m listening to the rain pour down. It’s been doing that since Wednesday and we’ve had over 700 mm of rain that’s 28 inches but can’t be sure as my gauge overflows at 150 mm. So it’s flooding in Brisbane. Will it be as bad as 2011? Hope not but it’s still bad, rains not due to stop till tomorrow.
February 27, 20224 yr Sorry to hear you are having too much rain, send it my way, we could use it. I am throwing some chicken wings in the air fryer. That thing makes the best wings.
February 27, 20224 yr G’day Dam levels are at 160 per cent so they are starting to release water into the Brisbane river. The projections are that 1400 homes will go under but that is probably to go up with the effect of local rain and runoff. Power is being turned off to Brisbane city as flooding will fill the power substations beneath the buildings. That means no trains as well. We are cut off north by flooding west at the rangers Toowoomba and Cunningham gape are closed. So south is still open but the intense rain cell is slowly heading that way. 6 deaths so far from the floodwaters. Praying that there will not be any more. 2011 was supposed to be the 1 in 100yr flood but this one could beat that.
February 27, 20224 yr Will keep you all in my prayers, I did not realize it was that bad there. For some reason I thought your country was a dry country always in need of rain. Just learned a whole lot more about Australia.
February 27, 20224 yr My Nicky in Canberra is having alot of rain too....last time I was there it was mad bush fires ... Your weather is extreme ....you and your family stay safe .🐸
February 28, 20224 yr Channeling my inner Evel Knievel. We had a baby shower at the house today for Sugar Britches. I'm not sure about the rules on these things, but I always thought that was a ladies only event. So as not to be in the way, I got together with some guys from work and rode dirt bikes on some trails up on Flat Top Mountain. It is ridiculous how much fun I had out there. Only dumped the bike once when I hit a tree root covered by wet leaves. To my credit, I landed a couple of jumps in spite of having not been on a dirt bike in years. I've decided to get myself a sweet jumpsuit and cape. Don't be a hater.
February 28, 20224 yr @Boothat suit and cape is a trap!!! he still broke every bone in his body despite wearing them AND safety goggles. just sayin'
February 28, 20224 yr Author Watching a tribute to John Landy, former State Governor, 2nd Person to break the 4 minute mile, world record holder, Olympic Gold Medalists and the star of the greatest Aussie sport moment ever. Passed yesterday at 91. VALE. This bloke was one of geros growing up. We were always told about him regardless, of the sport I competed in, when we're were being taught sportsmanship. @Cbdave keepin all you mob north of the boarder, and the cockroaches, in my thoughts and hoping the rain eases soon.
February 28, 20224 yr Gday jo shit oh bugger bugger bitch bum. I’m worried about myself and the flood levels over next couple of days. But how about those folk in Lismore! The water comes up so fast they are trapped and climb on there roofs. They are saved by ordinary Jo blows and there home boats. It’s all about the community. I’ll sort my place out. Then I’ll get some time off work and join the “mud army” and do my stuff like 2011. No use blaming the government. Just get out and do what is needed
February 28, 20224 yr Author @Cbdave glad to see your message. Hope you have power and not too much damage. Stay safe and Viva la Mud Army and all those who saw a way they could help and did. Lismore was terrifying, so quick too. You are right, no point blaming the government, just gotta roll up our sleeves and get it done.
