Hello my friends, an update from me..!

Featured Replies

Good Morning, my dear friends. I realise it has been a long time since I have posted, or participated, but I have thought about you all often, and do plan to come back to you all sooner rather than later!

As you can imagine, life has been very busy for me lately, for many reasons. I just checked my quit smoking app for the first time in a long time, and it is telling me that I have not smoked for 1 year, 233 days... This makes me feel very good, but honestly, smoking is just not something that I even think about these days, aside from thinking that it stinks when I pass someone smoking outside! In other good news, my sister-in-law has also been smoke free since 1st January, so she is coming along very well indeed. She is currently on holiday, so I am hoping that she will come back a non-smoker too.

In some sadder news, Bobbie is very sick. Only last week we found out that she has cancer that has spread to her lungs, and there is nothing that we can do to cure this, or even slow it down, as any steroids we could give here would affect her insulin levels, and make an extremely unhappy kitty. Instead, we have decided to watch her, and spoil her as much as possible while she is still with us, which we have no idea how long this could be; possibly only weeks, but hopefully longer than that. Obviously she will be dearly missed, but we are spending as much time with her as we possibly can, and she still seems OK in herself at the moment, still has an appetite, and demanding lots of attention as always. She has watched over us for the last 10 years, and for that we are eternally grateful.

But it is not all doom and gloom over here, and where there is some bad news, there is inevitably some good news as well. But this isn't just good news, its bloody fantastic news, and what Tasha and I have dreamt about for more years than I can remember; those of you who have been with me throughout my journey will know how happy I am to tell you that Tasha is pregnant! 14 and a half weeks pregnant to be precise, and we have (somehow) waited until 14 weeks to tell our friends (we didn't even tell her parents until the 12 week scan). Tasha is well, and after 13 or so weeks of nausea and tiredness, she is finally starting to feel more like herself, which is great. She is just starting to show already, and has had an almost constant smile on her face for the past 3 months. I am diligently now working on transforming the spare room into some semblance of a nursery, but I realise I still have a while before I have to finish anything. We have been told that the due date is 29th November, so that would be about 7 weeks after my 2 year no-smo anniversary. So, this just goes to show that you should never give up on your dreams, no matter how distant or unlikely they seems at times.

So, that is some of what has been happening here with me, and I hope you all understand why I haven't been around much lately. That said, even when I am not posting, please do feel free to send me a private message, as I will see it in my inbox and will always answer it as soon as I am able.

Looking forward to catching up with my friends, and hearing what you have all been up to recently.

Take care for now, and I will speak to you all soon :)
