We don't get Black Friday here.

I have never gone to black Friday Jo. People go crazy pushing to get the deals, cashier lines are huge and parking is next to impossible, no thanks! Lol

Me too i dont give a flying f*** about shopping. Shopping malls make me uneasy. I just buy a cd for my brother and some chocolate for the close ones. And thats more than enough.

They're trying to make Black Friday a big thing in Canada too but it's kind of stupid as we don't have Thanksgiving the day before and, everybody has to be at work that Friday anyway so I don't really get it? Most of the "deals" aren't that good anyway.

I agree. There's better discounts in the normal sales. I did see a laptop from £159 to £85 but when I looked online to see the reviews they weren't good.

I find a lot of people buy things only because it's been reduced. They don't need it and they wouldn't have looked at it twice full price. They just seem to be sucked in by the discount.

Black Friday...America's annual holiday reminder that there is a threadbare fabric between a civil society and total f***ing chaos.

When you see what some people will do for a discounted television set...it's hard not to lose some respect for our culture.

^^^ Yes! I have seen some of those Wally-Mart scuffles at the opening of the doors - my God! Do these people have no respect for their fellow mankind? Oh boy; sad!

Being retired now I focus more on the family thing and the reason for the season.  My gift to the family is that I always cook the holiday dinners though I still get the grandchildren a thing or two.

As to Black Friday, many years ago I worked for Wal-Mart.  If you think it is chaos and insanity on the customers side you should be on the customer service side -- never again will I work it or will I partake in it, I desire to keep my sanity.

^^^ I can only imagine being involved on the worker side - OMG!!!

This has reminded me.

Many years ago a story from our Tesco made it into the newspapers.

It was the tragic story of an almighty punch up between two men fighting over the last bag of brussel sprouts on Xmas Eve ????

I would fight for the last bag of Brussels.... but they are out of season for our chrissy... and well not really Aussie Christmas Food.
