  1. @SunnysideHappy for you, keep going, it may be tough but can be done!!
  2. @Sunnyside I like that, thanks, but I can promise you I am not going to fly again unless I can come over there to see your beautiful country.
  3. I am still here, for some reason, hanging on, really struggling, really depressed. But as I said many times, not giving up, not going back, no other option. I AM A NON SMOKER, even if I hate it. It is just an addiction that wants me to give in but I will not, I am more than that!

    Take Two

I don't have any friends, so I stay home.
  5. @Marie71 I see that @jillar gave you my timeline. I also see I did'nt answer your question. I did not use Zyban but instead used nicotine lozenges. I know for sure gave me a fighting chance but all the people here wore the gloves that threw the punches that is my sucess. They/ I will help you when you are ready to jump in the ring.
  6. It came to a point, health wise, I could no longer lie to myself. I cried for days, I was so afraid that I could not do it. I did not set a date. I had a few packs left from a carton. I made the decision when they were gone I was done. And so the day came. I became a nonsmoker. I still struggle, I still cry, I still get angry and I still am a nonsmoker. Who knew I could do it. I didn't and yet I have. So can you!
  7. you should cool these by an open window. By the way, what is your address?
  8. It must be hard, there are things I should limit but I just can't do it. I am good about trying new things. I just like to many things. Some I can't afford often. I am blessed, I never had to go hungry like so many. I can't complain, I donate to food drives. I can't imagine that, no one should have to go without food. We all should donate, no child should be hungry, they deserve a balanced diet and treats as well. If you are blessed, you should also bless others!
  9. I have no clue, no allergies, put in front of me and I will give it a go. Must be very hard for you.
  10. Just a baby to so many of us. Such a smart person to all of us! YOU ARE MAKING THE BEST DECISION EVER! Might be a little rough at first, but we have been addicts for a long time. (me 40 years). This will be a walk in the park for you. Stay focused and take it an hour at a time. Think of all that money you can spend on better things. You can do it.
  11. Why a pic, just fed ex a slice. With butter of course!
  12. This request means that she missed home and YOU. She wants to reclaim her safe place. Think of her other favorites for the next few days at home.
  13. Sorry, there are no healthy and tasty options. You could go to fruit bread with nuts, or pumpkin, but then you are going to want to toast with butter or cream cheese, at least at my house.
  14. @Mee, when my husband and I married he had his own business. He did a lot of tile work. You should be proud, it looks like you paid a pro to come in and do it!
  15. I want to smoke too! The cold hard truth is I can't. The minute the doctor told me a cat scan revealed the beginnings of emphysema I knew there was no more telling myself smoking was okay. Push came to shove, the cat was out of the bag, the cookie crumbled, and I had to face the consequences of my actions over the last 40 years. Sounds like the Doc has told you, you are on a one way road to a bad head on collision. Your family is in the car with you. If this was literally happening while you were driving you would get off at the next exit. You have done it before, you know you can do it. Please save yourself and your family from heartbreak. Accept it as the only choice!
  16. I am about 9 months out and I still have those feelings. Had a really bad day this weekend, lucky for me the car decided not to start. Have to get it towed in for service. I could have taken that a couple of ways, God is helping me out and making sure I save the money for car repairs. Double Win LOL. I can only tell you it will pass, you will have those days. The one thing I remind my self is that I did not think I would get past the first day. I did, as long as I remember I have come so far and I will never have to start over.
  17. I am sure you will do fine, just take your time. Just remember the old saying "measure twice, cut once". Be prepared to have sore arms after grouting and clean up.
  18. I am guessing you are using loose tiles, not the ones that come in sheets with the mesh backer? I would google and see if you can find a way to make it work. You might be able find a pattern that might work. If not, I would take back the tile and choose something else.
  19. I adore you! You make me laugh every time.
  20. Some where there is a post by me, pretty much the same thing. I have worn the couch out, I have been searching on line but have not found it yet. I have watched everything on Netflix. I have also done a lot of home maintenance type things. I have spent a lot of time here just reading, what others have been through, things they have done to keep their quit. Most recently I have enjoyed spending the money I have saved from the quit. I am old, so clothes and things no longer excite me. I will be out shopping for new comfy shoes for the spring and summer. I have ordered and received a new steam mop (for the tile floors), a handy carpet cleaner, (one of my dogs has decided he should pee in my bedroom to keep his 80# pound brother out of my room). New cookie sheets, as I love to bake. A new toaster, the old one had started to burn things. Some days I am a good girl, I cook healthy well balance meals. When I crave junk I go with that too. We are doing a big thing here. We have to accept that our emotions are running wild. Accept it for what it is, embrace the change, the bad parts will recede to the back as we grow stronger. We are addicted to a drug and should expect we will have to be strong for a long time. The truth is we can do it, we can win, we can be healthy and happy, if we just keep going and are patient while we get past the hard parts.
  21. I have 3 dogs. I do not have to worry about crumbs on my shirt and they are happy to make sure my fingers are clean. Life is grand with the pups, they clean up the floor in the kitchen as well. LOL

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
