  3. Some things you just can't unsee and that was one of them!!!!
  4. See, you are seeing it all, smoking is more that one thing, it has an effect on everything. That is what makes it so tough, your brain, body, and life have been all been given over to an addiction, that most of us did not even realize would happen. There is no rehab for us like other addictions, we have to soldier through it ourselves. Those that are lucky enough to find this board have been given a major opportunity to have others that offer support, advice and friendship while we struggle. You can do this, you will be surprised once you get going. Just reach out, everyone will hold your hand!
  5. Let's pause and think about things in life that were not a choice, things we were forced to do even though we did not want to. Illness, caregiving, death those things come to us all at one point or another. That will be something each one of face not matter what. For me, I did not want my son to have to deal with it again when he is so young. He was here for the rollercoaster that was our life when his Dad got sick. I hope to spare him a long ordeal. I also want to have better health to I can be part of my grandsons life,. Once you figure out the stuff you do want for your future, you can let go of the past. You will know that smoking is not the most important thing in your life. Makes it much easier, it will be hard work but everything worth having is hard work.
  6. Just remember what an inspirtion to all you are. I have not done the cigarettes but I have my share of margaritas and chocolate malts thru the rough times. Just throw it all out, buy some tequila and chocolate ice cream and join me. LOL
  7. Sorry about that, don't smoke but still enjoy a margarita. Guess I enjoyed one to many LOL
  8. I am almost at twelve months. I know there is no way I could have done it without the people here. You can talk about anything here. We all have challenges in our everyday lives that we would like to think that we have to smoke to get thru it. That is not true, I would come here and just spew all that out. Everyone would tell me it will be okay, you will get thru it. So far, so good, and I did not even have to pay for a therapist. LOL They are all gems, they just don't know it. You will see!!

    Covid up tick

I am so glad you are feeling better. I have avoided it so far and I am scared this new strain might be the one that gets me. I wish I could have been there to fix you that good breakfast and a lot of comfort food that would bring back your strength. Everyone should be pampered when they are that ill. Take care and keep us updated.
  10. Worked in a large industrial park, all kinds of plants. There was a factory that made pork rinds. That was all you could smell, first it was bad but it did start to get old. I still get a crave for them once in awhile!

Just so we are clear on this, would that be you or the bunny? Either way you are both beautiful. My confessions, I can't give them, they close the church when they see me coming!

  17. Wow, that went fast, seems like you just joined about 3 months ago. I have really enjoyed your post. Heartfelt, strong and supportive. That you had the courage to take on other changes at the same time. I think you are one amazing person!!
  18. We can only hope they are near, reading, learning, gaining the courage to step out to the ledge and jump. We were all afraid, did not know if we could do it until we did. That is okay, it is normal to be scared and unsure when you are about to take on any big challenge. I just want them to know there are a wonderful group here that will listen to you cry, whine and struggle. It will be okay, just jump. You will never know until you try, even if you fail, you can try again. We will be here thru it all.
  19. Now that is just not nice for those of us that are stuck here. I have lakes but no one to go with........wa wa
  20. Remember you are not just some guy. You are the guy that is getting the job done!! Congratulations
  21. @AceWhiteNow, that is what I need, what I want and what I deserve......someday I will get there.
  22. My 9 year old grandson is here spending the night. He can work every gadget in the house. Me, about 2!
  23. I have not been able to find the deck yet. I want the dancing, free drinks, buffett. The only water view I have seen today was when I did the dishes. Oh well, at least I can breathe without coughing!
  24. 4. wrap your fingernails with remover to get those gel nails off for the last time!
  25. If you smoke, you smoke. If you are kidding yourself about when, where and how much it will not serve you in any situation. I did not smoke much as a teenager but it led to 40 years pack a day habit. But it was only social, who you kidding! No one.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
