  1. I'm another who threw away a long quit, for me it was nearly 7 years. I'm going well this time and working to make this the sticky one. Basically everything Whisper said is what I would... 1 day at a time, NOPE and read, read, read, everything you can to have all the power over the addiction.
  2. Welcome Boater, 10 days cold turkey, your doing great. The insomnia is a killer but at least here because were pretty global there is usually someone online at any time. Best two bits of advice i can give is to take it one day at a time and to read as much as you can about the addiction. Knowledge is power and you can do this. Let this be your sticky quit..
  3. Well as all the Northies finish up celebrations on the Lido Deck I am sure they will all tidy before they go, I had a peak in and Claire's party is pretty full on so i'm kinda dreading clean up duty. So.. shout out to our girl Roz, hope your doing well and looking at a go home date for the weekend. N NOPE ... Not now, not later and not ever. Topic of the day: Spectacular Cover Songs .... but title or artist...
  4. I have... oh...oppps .... umm Sherlock Holmes "You have to be kidding me! I was in Boston for a week, and I never heard a decent Mariachi playing."
  5. Breakfast... porridge with honey and cinnamon (the real stuff not the fake stuff i'm allergic to) Lunch ... brown rice with peas and corn. Tea ... sweet potato noodles with pan tossed vegies, chichken pieces and some herbs... it was sort of like pasta without a sauce Vegemite... so far today I have opened the jar 3 times to take a sniff.....and I have promised it that as soon as these tests are done I'll eat some... just think Golem but instead of a ring its a jar of vegemite... junky much?! Coffee issue... haven't found a soy or dairy free alternative to use that doesn't curdle in the coffee.... i was crunching coffee beans but that go old when my heart went into overdrive. So I am working my way through teas trying to find the one... I have had the most luck with Russian Orange... which is russian caravan with dried range peel in it... nice and strong but not coffee.
  6. of course, don't you?
  7. Sometimes my dreams are fun and I don't want to wake up. Do you get that?
  8. hey @PeaceTrain i don't know much about the whole 30 diet, but I'm on a really restricted diet for the next 2-3 weeks for some medical tests. I have more things I can't eat than I can. I'm on day 5 and am struggling a bit too. Mine is a Low Iodine Diet (yay the thyroid) so i can have rice and oats but no other grains, no eggs, no dairy, no soy, only almonds or walnuts and only a small amount a day, no green leafies, no legumes, no fish or shellfish (i eat this 3-4 days a week so thats biting), no bread, no iodised salt and because of the laws here about iodizing salt that means I have to rule out any pre-prepared anything, no cauli, no broccoli, only 170g of meat per day... its great fun isn't it. We can be miserable together.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
