  1. Holy Cow Joe .... almost to the Lido Deck now! 11 months smoke free is amazing. Start packing my friend. I can already see your ship out there getting ever closer
  2. Huge congrats M5 for making it to the point where your quit can be measured in fractions of a year now How cool is that!! Celebrate your hard work today
  3. I honestly don't remember the craves being particularly difficult at 3 month in my quit but ......... that's me. I know you suffered a lot at the 3 month mark. It will be different for everyone and I would venture to say that at 3 months, whether it be strong cravings or just the drudgery of quitting without anymore support from close friends and family, it becomes tough to maintain your focus. Why? Because it's been such a fuc*in' hard job getting to the 3 month point for most. That's why not everyone makes it all the way to the Lido Deck. And, that's why getting to the Lido Deck is SO SPECIAL! It takes commitment & dedication and a lot of self discipline!! But you know what? Slow and steady wins the day with this quitting thing. Take it one NOPE day at a time, all the way to the Lido Deck if necessary. That will get you there - guaranteed!!
  4. Does Opah give expensive sh*t away?? I'd like to get in on that
  5. I'm trying to figure out who Mr. Titwank's next victims are while planning tomorrow's celebration threads
  6. I TRIED!! ................... I really Tried! Tried to go for a walk today but, there were speed bumps
  7. -9 ?? They must be getting sleepy by now those down-under sorts?
  8. Congrats Steve on reaching this 1st important milestone on your journey to that Lido Deck! Check in with us and let us know how you are. Be sure to celebrate this achievement
  9. Huge congrats CAquiiter for getting through that challenging 1st month. You now have a lot of tools to carry on building that quit ever stronger. Take some time to celebrate and treat yourself today - you deserve it!
  10. Great work Gabes - you're a quarter year smoke free already Congratulations! I will only get better from here so celebrate your milestone and keep pushing forward
  11. Hang in through these unexciting days of your quit because the motivation to carry on largely needs to come from within YOU. You say a couple of folks around you fell back to smoking? Did you speak to them about it? Just wondering what their thoughts on it might be. On these forums I have only heard how devastated and disappointed people felt after relapsing. I suppose if you speak to someone in person about it they might wish to downplay the fact that they chose to fail at something like this - but know this ..... YOU have made the right choice to continue your almost 3 month quit. I promise you that you would not be happier if you started smoking again and threw away all the hard work you have done to get to this point. Think about how you admired those people with 3 months quit during your first week or so of your own quit. Well, NOW that's you!! You have come that far ...... there's no turning back now Oh and ..... I'm one of the cool-kids from the Lido Deck so I know a little something about the challenges of getting there. Just sayin'
  12. Good for you Marie! Stay smoke free no matter what. You CAN do this Post often as you can. It really does help. Hope the college visit is a success!
  13. Careful now GITW ....... it's one of those things you'll NEVER be able to "unknow" once you know it?
  14. Should I be nervous?? J.K. Opah. You're doing great!! Enjoy your hunt

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
