  1. Welcome Time4change! Your story sounds very similar to mine when I quit a little over a year ago. I have smoked for decades and never really tried to quit whole heartedly but suddenly one day, I just knew I'd had enough and decided to quit on a whim basically. Well, long story short, I managed to get it done. It was not easy and it does take a 100% commitment to yourself not to smoke even 1 cigarette or not to even take 1 puff, for old times sake. That's the only thing you need to do. Not easy but very doable Hope to see you back here in the morning

  3. Well done Sparkzzz!! 1 full year quit and climbing onto the Lido Deck is an important and memorable milestone for all of us. Lay beck on a lounge and relax awhile and we'll get you a cocktail I bet you're really proud of this accomplishment, as you well should be!
  4. Huge congrats JB for making it over all the hurdles that this addiction throws at us. Not everyone is successful, as you well know so, it's a big deal when someone makes it to the 1 year mark. Hope you celebrated in some way that was truly meaningful to you Sit back and catch a few rays on the Lido Deck now as you have earned it

  9. I have a Cardinal's Sweatshirt that I have had for probably 30 years. Clearly my favorite piece of clothing - lol! It's got paint on it and has worn thin in sports but it's irreplaceable!!

  11. Hey! ..... that was me
  12. That's good to hear Parsley Yesterday was a large bump in the road for you. Those bumps will become smaller and less frequent the further down the road you go. Keep at it Parsley. You're getting closer and closer to your goal each day!
  13. Yes, they were saying that last night during the A's.Yankee game. If Yankees won, Red Sox would have all the pressure on them. I'm not convinced it really matters once they get a couple of innings in. What ever the Yankees do now, it's all gravy to them so yeah, they may be a little looser early in the series.

  15. Like I said yesterday ......... good series ahead and maybe some mayhem?
  16. If Billy Martin was still around, he'd be giving you one of these

  18. It may be the seasonal changes that have made both of your month 8's a little more challenging? Just a thought. During that crucial 1st year, the change in a season often brings on new smoking triggers that you may not even be aware of. At least in our minds, we started moving into the Autumn mode as of Sept. Both of you are doing just fine. Remaining on guard for the unexpected is always a good thing - keep at it
  19. Good to hear everything went well. Congrats on the new "stick" addition
  20. You are correct - Nicotine is gone from your body. Now it's all a mind game. You're doing great Dragon! Celebrate the end of the physical aspect then dig in for the mental adjustment Oh yeah, good luck with the Pee Test

  22. Clearly, beer must be less expensive there than it is at a Canadian sporting venue. I wouldn't be tossing a $15.00 beverage away no matter what the situation was

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
