  1. How are you doing, @Icanhike ? I see your weather is frigid and snowy. Stay warm and cozy and smoke free.
  2. My Smut Sister, @Doreensfree is sleeping (ahem) but, I am wide awake and here is a photo. Pancake Day Pancakes....I would call them 'crepes' Hope you are feeling better @Lilly
  3. I am a cold turkey success story. It isn't as hard as people make it out to be, it is just a matter of commitment, as is any quitting method. You must commit to NOPE. and educate yourself about the addiction so you can understand your journey. Yes, quitting, even with NRT's, is sometimes a rugged, grimy business but, it isn't horrible forever. Each day you can find some beauty and switch up your brain and in the long run, the freedom is delicious.
  4. Good for you, Two months without cigarettes is a great thing.
  5. There are a lot of good links on this thread that will be useful to you, Mona. Are you using NRT ? How long are you quit ? You can do this, Mona. IF you want to.
  6. Traditionally, we don't have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, down here. We have adult beverages. lol

  11. No one is scoffing at anybody. It is the junkie voice that is the enemy and needs to be rooted out. The addict's voice is always a red flag. Addiction is a biotch.

More unexpected benefits will be forthcoming ! and after a bleak Winter, the first buds will appear and burst into the fresh new Greens of Spring. The lushness will delight you and it is something you don't really appreciate unless you slog through a Winter. Here in NOLA, it is a green jungle most of the year, unless we get a freeze and then it is devastating. So happy you are with us and finding benefits with your quit. Reward yourself, especially in the dark days of Winter.

  19. Addiction is a horrible thing, Lilly, but it is conquerable. I hope you are able to quit smoking.
  20. "cravings for a smoke is always there" This is untrue. Cravings exist while you maintain your addiction to nicotine. When you quit nicotine, cravings fade away.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
