-6 hey Dnot that win you stole from us was bad. v. bad.
  4. When you decant, 'mother' will look like a somewhat firm jelly like thing, mine was a thin round 'thing'.
  5. The 'mother' is collecting on the bottom, if you give it a gentle shake you should observe yeast particles swirling, bits of 'mother' so to speak. lol. Let me know, @Rozuki. It is not likely that you poured off all the 'mother'.
  6. you will have to put this ∞ after the big number, mighty one, to accomodate Sarge's contribution.

    Working & Quitting

You will do fine, mrs. Lots to dream about, what will you spend your new dosh on ? Oh, the places you will go ! NOPE your way through any grimy moments, they won't last long and each time you conquer your thoughts the stronger and more pliable your brain becomes.
  8. Hi Roz ! You are going to flip over this ! The 'mother' is the live yeast culture found in an organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar like Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, You can find in a health food store, wholefoods, and online. It has the 'mother' swirling around on the bottom. Shake the Bragg gently before you measure into the wine. Don't shake your mixture, you don't want to disturb the 'mother'. After the incubation, when you strain and decant DON'T throw away the new 'mother'. You can now carefully, add more fresh wine to your original jar and start the process again. You have your own 'mother' now and don't need to add ACV anymore. If you are careful, 'mother' lasts for years like the 'mother for sour dough. I wanted to make up some batches of a red Remoulade for gifts but, the red wine vinegars taste so ghastly...so I researched how to make it. Now, I have 6 quarts going. Bought better wine (and one champagne) for this batch too. How long it takes varies. Smell the jars, when it smells/tastes like vinegar, it is ready. If you want Balsamic, you have to get a whisky or cognac cask and wait years.

  18. The longer you go without nicotine, the better you will feel. Sure, you may have some gruesome moments, some bitchy moments but, pfffttt... the discomfort is replaced with some euphoria and a renewed trust and confidence in yourself.
  19. One thing for today ? I'd like to do this again....like NOW. I would like to hop on a jet and meet a lover somewhere where nobody knows our name. No phone, no internet. Maybe a beach....maybe a river....some body of water,. Maybe a mountain stream in a mountain meadow. Good food, good cocktails...enough for days. Leave when satiated.

  23. Sunshine, you have never gone cold turkey and are STILL promoting gum Gum which you have abused for a LONG time. PLEASE, stop it ! All quits are good quits but for you to be promoting gum when people are ready to go Cold Turkey is just WRONG WRONG WRONG. STOP IT. Cold turkey does NOT take a special environment. Quite the contrary, it is simply about CHOICE. You have everything you need to go CTurkey. It is all about natural YOU and choice. You DON"T need anything more.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
