  6. I am so glad you are victorious ! They don't last long but, can be really intense and fatal to a quit if you let them get a hold. Smoking only holds failure, despair and illness.
  7. Seasonal triggers are real and craves that pop up out of nowhere in a solid quit can throw you. These are the dying embers of the addiction and have no power whatsoever over you. Vigilance is needed to identify smoky thoughts and we must refuse to let them grow. You have quit smoking, Kdad. You are still building your quit and your new free life. Reward yourself for crushing this trigger. You Don't Smoke Anymore. Look for another 'winter coming' activity that celebrates your freedom, it is a spectacular time of the year.

  10. G67 is not far from the Getty fire. I am in contact with 10 or so friends in Northern Cal that had to evacuate from the Kincade fire and also pal on the Carquinez Straits that got burning hot yesterday. They said the wind is just outrageous.

  18. Congratulations, Urkster ! Part of quitting is learning how to do nothing, take breaks etc. without a smoke. This will get easier and easier with each and every crave and trigger you conquer. QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
