I did a superset workout this morning. Superset consisted of: Deadlifts, Overhead Press, Bench Press, and Kettlebell Pullovers. Repeated the set 5 times then finished up with 15 minutes of jump rope.

My omelettes never look like a pizza. I never serve omelettes open-faced, always folded. If my omelettes were going to look like another food it would be some kind of weird egg taco concoction. The frittatas I make always resemble a pizza. Or pie. Or pizza pie if you will.

Do you see the problem here Del? Your expectations of smoking are in direct contradiction to the realities of smoking. You're holding on to some vague idea of smoking leading to "finding happiness." Yet you smoked and all it led to was a sore throat and some negative thoughts. It's time to stop treating cigarettes like they are some kind of magic elixir and start seeing them for what they really are. This is a vital part of the process, breaking down the myths and lies of addiction and recognizing smoking for what it really is. We all lied to ourselves when we smoked. Cognitive dissonance is as much a part of addiction as is the drug of choice. As you educate yourself about nicotine addiction, you quickly begin to see the absurdity of continuing to smoke. As you begin to recognize the absurdity of smoking, not smoking becomes much easier.

Got in a quick trail run this morning before work. We actually had a 12 hour stretch where it didn't rain, so I took advantage of it while I could.

Much like quitting smoking, making healthier choices is a simple process. Clean up the diet a bit. Move around more. Gradual changes over time add up quickly.

I could feed my dog the letters from a Scrabble board and he would shit out better content than Bakon.

If you're a fella who remains a bachelor into his forties...learning to do some basic domestic stuff is not optional. I had a bowl of oatmeal and two hard boiled eggs for breakfast this morning. Maybe it's something to do with the time difference between here and Australia.
-
Since hard boiled was not an option, I voted for scrambled. Not to brag but...I make a really good omelette. I just recently started making frittatas as well.
-
I'll just leave it to my imagination. I don't really have any other option. I haven't seen a damn thing looking at any of these.

Willpower is not a foundation to build a lasting lifetime change upon. Willpower waxes and wanes...comes and goes. Commitment and education is where rock-solid quits are built. Quits built on commitment and education are quits that are built to last. The process of quitting is a deeply personal one. You will have to ask yourself some serious questions. You will learn things about yourself during the process. In spite of those around us, we ultimately make our most important decisions alone. That being said...if you want support, you can always find it here on the Train. I just finished reading through the responses to your original post and you received great advice from people who have successfully quit and know what they are talking about. Yes. Absolutely. I can still remember the cravings and thoughts of those early days of my quit. However, I can't even remember the last time I actually craved a cigarette. Cravings for nicotine are not an issue for me any longer, they are nonexistent at this point.

Nice! A double shot of Otis. And one more...

I've lifted every day this week, so I did a boxing workout this morning. Warmed up with some jump rope. Did 4 rounds on the heavy bag, 2 rounds on the speed bag, 3 rounds on the double-end bag, slip rope and footwork drills, medicine ball throws, and finished up with some core work(Roll-Outs and Hanging Leg Raises).

This picture doesn't really fit the thread, but it's one of my favorite things on the interwebs. "Yoda, the college years."

You may find in time that being exposed to others smoking actually enforces your own quit. That's been my experience. I've gone from being indifferent to others smoking to being repulsed by the smell of cigarettes. I smell cigarette smoke now and there are no longings or romanticizing, just disbelief that I used to smoke. Stay the course. Focus on your goals. Trust the process.

I did a hodgepodge of exercises for a workout this morning. Did some Front Squats and Romanian Deadlifts. Got in a bit of work on the Olympic rings doing Chin-Ups, Dips, and Roll-Outs. Finished up the morning session with some work on the campus board: Ladder Climbs and Static Holds. I've been winging it in the gym lately and like the flexibility it affords. However, I'm looking to start a more structured program next week...Get back to training rather than just exercising.
