Welcome back Wantsit. Congratulations on four seasons of freedom. See you on the lido deck.

That front produced some stout winds but no tornadoes here in East Tennessee. The temperature has already dropped 31 degrees here today and it looks like we'll get below freezing tonight.

A little bit of crazy in pursuit of a worthy goal is not a problem. Cry if you must. Rave if you like. Just keep moving forward towards freedom.

Welcome aboard Old Man Coffee. Good call on giving up the smokes. Get used to that feeling. Quitting Smoking = Freedom

There are more polished versions of the song available, but It's nice to listen to a couple of legends just riffing together in studio.

Congratulations on three years of freedom Hope2Nope.

Welcome aboard ForestGreen. There's always room for one more quitter on this Train. Grab a seat and stay a while.

"No matter what!" That's a great attitude. And a great attitude goes a long way. You're well on your way now Heather.

Actually...455 is 2.37 times my current body-weight (192). I hate to be nit-picky, but if I'm gonna commit to chasing PR's, that's gonna involve me turning into one of those unbearable gym bro types that everybody agrees is a pain in the ass. I'll try to keep the ostentatious displays of self-congratulatory posts to a minimum. I'm not making any promises, but "I'll try."

Doing something a bit different with my workouts now. I've never been one to obsess about personal records and chasing certain numbers and I don't advise that approach to others. However, and perhaps a bit hypocritically, I'm focusing on achieving a Deadlift of 480 pounds or more. That would be 2.5 times my current body-weight. Two things sent me down rabbit hole of chasing PR's. I talked to my Dad's trainer and he makes a very good case for the Deadlift being the gold standard for assessing strength. I also set a new PR for myself last week pulling 455. I talk about how it's progress not specific numbers that are important, but damn...that number got me all worked up. So, for the foreseeable future, I will be doing: Deadlifts(obviously), Romanian Deadlifts, Front Squats, Bent-Over Rows, Rack Pulls, and Farmer's Walks. And to avoid imbalances and work the antagonists I will work in Overhead Presses and/or Bench Presses into every workout.

The goat man approves of your effort. It's all about progress... According to Doreen's Cragger's Atlas this route is graded FC2.2.1 (Free Climb using two hands, two knees, and one arse).

There is no harm in craving a cigarette. Cravings are to be expected when breaking an addiction. Stay true to the commitment you have made to yourself and resist the urge to light one up. The cravings will pass, they always do. You are in the baptism by fire stage of your quit. The cravings, obsessive thoughts about smoking, emotions that run the gamut...those first few days can get a bit intense and really test your resolve. Things calm down with time. It gets better. And you will be rewarded many times over for your effort. Buckle up, knuckle down, and enjoy the ride.

The green sweater Kurt Cobain wore during the "Unplugged" set sold at auction for $334,000. Kinda crazy how things come around...

I'm assuming it's being graded using the Yosemite Decimal System. A Class III climb would involve scrambling and the use of hand holds. Some Class III climbs would include ropes for assistance. It sounds like a good bit of fun. Hope you enjoyed yourself up there.

Welcome aboard Heather. Good call on giving up the smokes. One step at a time, that's how you quit. You can deal with the future when it gets here. Not only is quitting possible, the process could not be any more simple. No reason for panic.
-
Nothing beats a good walk when craving and feeling restless. Congratulations on putting Day One behind you.
-
What kind of climbing are you doing? Is there a route that you can hike/scramble to the top? Are you using a rope...top rope or sport climbing?
-
Welcome aboard Urkster. Past failures and false starts are history now. Commit to the quit and look to a freedom filled future.

Getting into the spirit of Halloween. I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but this Jack in the Box employee training video from the 1970s is a spine chilling thrill ride. *SPOILER ALERT* I have mixed feelings about Ted. He is an idiot. On the other hand...he busts his ass on a wet floor, cuts off a finger in the tomato slicer, hurts his back picking up a box, and falls down a flight of stairs. Not only did he finish his shift, he was still hustling to get into Tina's pants. Ted is not very bright, but he is a trooper.

First pitch isn't thrown out until after 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The games run longer as the network gets in as many commercials as possible. I only made it to the top half of the seventh before falling asleep last night. I'm not getting any younger over here...I need my sleep.

Good job Saz. Six-years of freedom is awesome. And, you provided much information and inspiration to those of us who followed your lead. You're a cool chick, don't go changing on us.
