  1. Day 5 and doing great! I woke up with more energy and did my exercises and feel great! Yesterday was the first day I was't tired all day so I'm hoping that continues! I still think about being a non-smoker all day and I like the feeling! Thank you all for your inspirations and cheers and to Mac#23....Go Bills! I was born and raised in Buffalo. Tonawanda and then Williamsville! Let's all keep it up!

  3. After eating way too much, I can skip the smoke and go straight to the self-loathing. Seriously though, it's been forever since I checked in with this group. I sincerely hope that all of you that have new quits will stick with it. It's been over 7 years since I had a smoke and I can honestly tell you that I rarely think about it or even remember that I smoked at all. And believe me, I loved smoking as much as anyone (pack a day for 30 years). If I can quit and stay quit, anyone can. Just like you've probably committed to not jumping in front of moving busses or putting your arm into a wood chipper (I hope), just commit to not smoking 100% and you can't fail. Get your head right and success is inevitable. All you have to do is not smoke.

  12. It is no secret here that I was a secret smoker. I had Febreze stashed in my car. Mints, gum, breath strips & sprays spilled out of every pocket of my purse and clothing. My hands aged prematurely from the constant hand washing. You get the picture. When asked for a ride from coworkers, family or friends that didn’t know my dirty secret addiction— extreme panic. I’d make up some excuse why I needed to go alone. Or I’d douse every fiber in my car with Febreze, Lysol, dryer sheets…I’d get the microfiber cloth from my console and wipe everything down- no ashes to be seen! What a stressful nightmare to be asked to give someone a ride!!! What!?!?! Today I worked in the office. A coworker asked for a ride home. I said “Sure!” and continued on with my work. No laps around the block airing out my car, or flooding it with Febreze. Oh sweet smoke-free freedom how I love thee!!! Seven years and counting feels & smells great!! NOPE! L4L

  18. Hi Everyone! I am so happy to have found this board! My last cig was Wednesday at 8:00 pm and it is now Sunday at 2:00 pm! I am on Chantix (started on 4/14). Other than being so tired (day and night) I feel OK, sort of! I have hidden 4 cigs in the freezer and have been tempted but so far I've resisted and I hope to stay that way! It really helps that my husband quit a couple or 3 weeks before me, cold turkey. Anyway, I look forward to reading more and sharing more since this helps too!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
