Getting ready for 1 to 2 feet of snow coming over night.

Here are some pictures from 2014 in Buffalo

Here you can see the snow coming in from lake Erie

We got 6 to 7 feet of snow in 24 hours.

Wow, that is beautiful and terrifying at the same time.  You be careful.  I know you have dealt with this before but WOW!

Just got back from a short cruise to a Caribbean island and Cozumel, Mexico. A little stressful with all the Covid protocols, but we had a great time! Hard to believe I was swimming in that warm, blue water and now at home dealing w 15 inches of snow!! :)

Here where it should be snowing, its mid-50's and beautiful. While I appreciate the warmth, it makes me really sad since we need water and I would like to ski.

Hope everyone on the QT has a great and smoke-free day!

Nice! Fresh warm sea breeze and blue water! Makes me long for the summertime! 😎 I don’t do cold very well. 😞

Checking the weather in Florida.

The Sunshine State issued its first falling iguanas warning yesterday.  I'm 400 miles north of the Florida line so these warnings are little more than a fascinating oddity to me.  However, if you are in Florida...heads up!

  • 2 weeks later...

Looking forward to a Saturday at home with absolutely nothing to do.  The weather is going to be cold and windy with a chance of snow.  Apart from feeding the donkeys, there's no real need to go outside tomorrow.

My dog Cash is ahead of the curve on dealing with days like this.  Has a bed right in front of the fireplace, lays there all day.  He only gets up to eat and do his backyard business.  That dog is a daily reminder that the simplest pleasures are the best.

Sitting on the couch realizing I have not planned dinner.  Don't feel like a lot of work so I think it will be breakfast for dinner. Easy, one pan and done.

Watching Netflix Bird Box, wishing I could sleep as usual.  Thinking about what I might need for the few days, we have an ice storm coming.  The only thing might be T-Kill-Ya, I have margarita mixer. It might keep me warm if the power goes out. LOL.

Just got back from picking up the liquid heat. I will admit I did a small run into Target for other things I need to get thru the storm, cheese, chocolate, croissants.  These have been known in my clinical trials to calm the nerves. LOL

Just a shout out to @Linda, been trying to send you a PM for days, will not go thru.  Is your inbox full.

Sitting and watching the snow coming down all day!!

Were suppose to get about 14 inches. Not as bad as the east coast

but bad enough

I know you are used to getting this type of snow but I say if it is going to snow, let it snow, snow, snow.  For us in the south it can be like magic. I just sit by the window and watch the wonder of it all. I always appreciate the beauty of snow gently falling, coating the roofs, trees, the joy of watching children shrieking with delight. When I was younger I would be out there with the kids.  Now I enjoy staying inside, watching my son and grandson make memories together.

Once a long, long time ago when I was 15 years old it snowed.  I went out to enjoy it with my neighborhood friends.  There was a new boy there visiting.  Little did I know then that I would fall in love with this boy and marry him 5 years later.  Yes, I love the snow!!

Wow @KrisThat is really why you love the snow!!!

Nice memory to share. Check your e-mail I will send you a picture

Brushing up on my Canadian English.  In my time on this board, I've become familiar with British slang.  I can even understand most of Jo's Aussie slang now.

Now, I'm working on a job with a group out of Manitoba.  The foreman is an ex-smoker like myself.  He explained that he "quit the darts."  Apparently, Canadians call cigarettes darts.  I told him that I started working out again when I quit.  He explained that he only worked on his "Molson muscle."  He patted his belly after saying that, so I figured that one out quickly

Left and right are now Larry and Roger.  The pisser is now a washroom.

I've already had to explain a couple of Southernisms to him, so we have a bit of a dialect exchange program going here.

Okay, @Boo You got me there, I was thinking the southern thing was referring to the down under parts at first read. Lord, that was embarrassing!!LOL You have a left and a right and a pisser...Know what I mean!

At least I know enough now to know that if they call me a "hoser", they are not making reference to my dangly bits.
