Happiness is…

Featured Replies

Happiness is sitting on the beach after a surf/swim, huddled in ya hoodies,  drinking hot chocolates from the thermos with ya boys (cousins) and realising you may hardly see each other these days, for years even, but when someones shit hits the fan, you all drop ya lives, jump in the cars and head to Bells (or Woolomi...it was only ever one or the other for the drama) to sort that shit out. There is nothing like letting the surf dump the shit outa ya arse to remind you not to get too full of yourself and bringing your arse back down to earth which is where you need to be to deal with the detritus life hurls your way. But you do it as united front.

Happiness is witnessing all these successful quits and dispelling the rumor that quitting smoking is too hard. It isn't too hard, it gives you power.  It makes you happy with yourself.

She will most likely love that too.  Enjoy your time together because those moments will stay forever with you.

Happiness for me today is I spent most of the day at the hospital with my friend who you all have heard me talk about. What a great visit we had. This girl is so amazing and her attitude about what she is going through is something beyond belief. I am amazed by her on a daily basis. A week ago they were going to send her home on hospice. She told her doctor I'm not ready to give up yet!! Her higher power is giving her strength to fight. What a blessing she is to all that love her!!

@jillar thank you. I wish I had an eight of the faith and strength she has. She knows eventually it is terminal but she is going to give her all while she can. This world needs more people like her I have been so blessed to have her as a friend.

searching the board and reading all the funny, helpful things you do for each other.  I am baking bread tomorrow, banana walnut included, wish I could bring you a loaf of that and english muffin bread. Of course, I would include

butter!!

Happiness is the kid ringing you at 3.04 once she's on the bus to apologise for being a farkin cow that morning.

Happiness is remember waiting for the school bus to arrive in the morning, blurring circus music from your car and getting out to loudly wave and shout goodbye to ya kid because she just told you you were to old and fat yo wear colourful clothes, you looked like a clown and to go home and change....oh nope, wait that's just revenge....but made me feel happy.

Being able to breath without coughing up a lung.  Being able to sleep without coughing.  Being able to make a phone call without coughing.  Being able to take a walk without coughing. Ddoes anyone see a pattern, I am not coughing, hear that, of course you did, I am not coughing.

Happiness is taking your bra off as you walk through the door at the end of the day.
