July 13, 20179 yr The one time I don't spray down my boots and pants with repellent and I get attacked by Chiggers. I am suffering from bites on my legs. The itching is driving me crazy. Anybody got any remedies for the itching. I will try anything at this point  PS ... To prove just how bad of a situation I'm in I will even consider trying any crazy crap bakon suggest
July 13, 20179 yr Oh no! I don't have any ideas on what would help but I hope someone does before Bakon comes up with an idea.... :o
July 13, 20179 yr Max Strength Preparation H. Sounds crazy but it stops itching and inflammation anywhere - it's not just for the butt. Do the cream not the ointment....less greasy. Cortisone cream works almost as well.
July 13, 20179 yr Calamine Lotion may help as well. For temporary relief, a cool compress (cloth soaked in cold water) applied to the skin or even immersing the affected area in cool water may help.

July 13, 20179 yr Oh no how terrible I swear half the bug sprays are no good... Almost as bad as using a strong sunscreen and getting burned :(
July 13, 20179 yr uggggghh...I had them once and my son was infested! I felt horrible for him. I can't add to what any of the above said....tried them all...they help..to a degree
July 13, 20179 yr Just a side note but, I have never heard of a chigger before. I was imagining something like this ...........
July 13, 20179 yr To be honest..I havnt either..I was thinking it was like a midgy... Maybe the sarge..or boo.might know..they are our two Bear Grylls...does sucking poison out need to be done... If so ..ask a close friend ...
July 13, 20179 yr A cold shower and beer. Works for me. A simple way to avoid chigger bites in the future is to put a bit of deodorant in any vulnerable areas. It blocks the pores and doesn't allow the little buggers to inject their saliva.
July 13, 20179 yr does sucking poison out need to be done... If so ..ask a close friend ... I'm not that close a friend to anyone to be sucking poison out of them :o
July 13, 20179 yr Author Having a hard time quitting smoking, then get chiggers. I promise you that cigarettes will be last thing you will be thinking about.
July 14, 20179 yr Oh.this is not what I was thinking at all....these in my pants...no chance...try duct tape...on the hems..
July 14, 20179 yr Author After two shots and two prescriptions from the doc the itching is sitarting to fade. It took everything I had to keep from scratching. That was the worst. I will never forget to spray down with repellent again.
July 15, 20179 yr I'm not that close a friend to anyone to be sucking poison out of them :o lmao! I was thinking the same thing! If that were a requirement I would seriously need to evaluate how much I really need any of my friends in my life!!.
July 16, 20179 yr Why are you where the bugs are? I understand being a man's man and hunting your own meat but then you grow up and get a job. Only thing the woods are for, is passing through on a motorized anything. Boat car or bike. Other great thing of being a paid man's man is buying your meat. Already plucked ducked skinned and wrapped. Then fire up grill in the cut grass or cement pond area of the yard and still no critters. Or for a treat- eat out. I love to eat out. My wife likes it too
July 16, 20179 yr Duct tape your hands and get a straw for the beer. Then sit back and enjoy the itch realizing it's still easier than a cigarette urge. Smile and squirm but don't scratch or your weak.
