Covid19 Virus Update from Long Island, NY: You cannot go to any restaurant on LI or in NYC for dining in.....You can only order take-out or delivery (if that is even available). My local Target store had no TP or paper towels available but I was able to get 2 2-liter bottles of caffeine-free Diet Coke and my dog's canned food which was on promotion (buy 3 6-packs and get a $5 gift card. Panda is good to go for at least 2 months now!

My sis just texted me that one of her co-workers got sick on Sunday (they worked together on Saturday) and went to doc this morning. Had a flu test (negative) and the Covid19 test (results take 1-5 days)...my sis is not going back to work til her co-worker gets her result!

🤒

Take care, Rozuki, and I hope your sister's co-worker is a false alarm.  Restaurants, bars, gyms, etc. all closed here in Colorado and I'm guessing that will be pretty much nationwide before long.  Starting to worry about my TP stash as time goes on without refills so I'm on the hunt again, but so far no luck.  We're all going to catch the coronavirus because we have to keep going out looking for toilet paper. And yay for Panda, a girl's gotta eat!

Y'all should be home !  Go home.  Stay home.

But EastEnders has been on longer than neighbours and home n away.

We are still having our footy season...starts tonight...but the are playing reduced time AND there will be no spectators.

No sports here in the US, either! Just got word from my local county via text msg: all indoor portions of malls will be closed along with all bowling alleys and amusement parks/arcades as of 8 pm on 3/19! A close friend under going chemo for metastatic breast cancer was just informed by her oncologist that she cannot leave her house or visit with "healthy" friends and definitely no dental work to be done!

Some veterinary practices (including the one that vets our foster dogs) are now having people call from the parking lot when picking up or delivering an animal/meds, etc, and a tech comes outside and delivers/picks up the dog, meds, or whatever.  No clients allowed inside except for emergency area in separate building.  Gives me enough peace of mind to continue fostering during this time when more and more dogs are getting dumped.  Smart and usually common sense solutions can sometimes help us get through this and allow us to help others.

Just had my first appointment with my new pulmonologist cancelled due to them closing their office because of the covid virus. Now I have to wait another month.... 😞

Tried to make an instacart order and not only was all the toilet paper gone (yes, I guess everyone finally got the memo) but so was paper towels and water. Luckily we have family in the grocery business so we're not too worried yet...

G’day

Cant buy non drowse hay fever tabs at the moment. Only can get the stuff with the puedo stuff that mucks with what little brain cells I’ve got left.

Got a small magpie supply of tissues for the public eye and use a old fashioned cloth hanky in private.

Damn hay fever. A couple of good sneezes gives a lot of personal space and not a lot of eye contact take it from me.

Get some pineapple! Pineapple is a natural antihistamine...pineapple juice helps...eating chunks of pineapple helps.

G’day Jo

got some pineapple from the local market today.

most of the traders are afraid that the market will be shut down.

We have left our number with a lot of the traders.

They have offered to deliver.

Youve got to be happy with that!

What? Seems a little odd that pulmonologists would close down during a pandemic involving a virus that can cause respiratory problems but maybe the risk of a patient with covid coming in and spreading it to a vulnerable population in their offices makes it necessary.  Probably for the best in the long run that your appointment was delayed, but I hope you can get in safely soon.

I was at the grocery store within moments of the 7 a.m. opening bell yesterday and was able to get one of three remaining packages of toilet paper ( a couple 4 packs and my 12 pack (woo hoo!) were all that was left from about 6 different brands -- and this was with a one pack per customer limit).  Luckily it was very cold out so I didn't look quite as insane wearing my old dollar store mask with a scarf wrapped around it, as I shopped with rubber gloves on.  It's scary out there and we're all terrified of each other, which is good for social distancing.

@Jordan7 part of California's shelter at home mandate is to call your dr first to see if they feel it warrants a Dr visit.  So I'm assuming that either they're doing that or this pulmonologist is too busy at the hospital right now to have his office open.

Glad you got your 12 pack of tp 😊

That makes sense. Hopefully we can get a federal shelter at home mandate soon! and stand a better chance of containing this rather than having patchwork measures and people bringing it from state to state.

They closed most of our farmers markets this weekend but the delivery option is great. I'll be ok for flour cos my little sister owns a bakery. The Queen Vic Market is still opened though. Supermarkets are looking a bit better this weekend still empty shelves but defo better than last weekend.

I'm actually not sure whether I'm living in the right place at the moment...only 250 known cases, no deaths but, people here are hoarding like crazy. Paranoia has set in.

The government responded very quickly for once...if the virus sweeps through our townships we are in for a very rough ride. I have family living in Switzerland and Australia

And theres nothing worse than being so far away from them. Looks like we have to ride this one out and hopefully it will bring the best out in people and governments.

But...will we learn from this?

Guys, please stay safe...my garden will benefit,  as this is where i will be spending all my free time😊

Our state has given the order as from today to stay at home, Rez & I will still be working, otherwise we will, from now be in lock down, voluntarily restricting ourselves even further than what the advisory says, no take outs, no visiting the grocery stores for at least 4 weeks, (rationing our food), fresh fruit and veg delivery only, first box is ordered for next week delivery, personally there ain`t no F`ing way I would want to have  be hospitalized and especially within the next few weeks until those ppe`s and ventilators are supplied!!

stay healthy folks

On a more cheerful note, spring is definitely coming, loving hearing the birds in the morning :)

Right you frucktards...who's hording my frickin Vegemite.... Vegemite people, I can walk to the frickin factory from my work but can I buy a jar in Melbourne? Down to half a big jar, that's not a week's worth.

@Rozuki hope ya sister is ok.

Thanks for asking, @notsmokinjo! My sister's co-worker's test result was negative!

People all over the world having trouble getting toilet paper and Charmin brand toilet paper is still advertising on tv! No shame 😠😡

Advertising toilet paper on tv right now seems like a waste of advertising dollars since people are lining up to try to buy it

G’day

i heard they were thinking of printing the advertising directly on the toilet paper.

the trending print medium.....

There is a gas station in our neighborhood that has gas for 89 cents a gallon.  I don't think I have seen it that cheap since I started driving in 1957.  We could have really gone far in the rv with those prices! 😞
