Hi... new to this site... thanks for being here!

This is my first foray into online support. Please bear with me while I figure out what I'm doing.

Could be amusing to watch as I am on day 4 or 5 without nicotine and day 9 with out cigarettes and seem to intermittently lose my mind and get lost or stuck in my own  mental/emotional drama.  Laugh or cry...   just flippin' lighten up a bit, eh?

This is my fourth, and final (because I DON'T SMOKE), quit in 33 years of smoking.

I look forward to getting to know you and the ways & wonders of quit train.

Again, Thanks for being here.

Welcome, Kendra. and congratulations on your wonderful quit!  There is a lot of wonderful information here to help you with your quit. Take a look at the pinned threads on the Quit Smoking discussions forum.  More importantly, there are kind, loving people here who have all been where you are now, and are eager to encourage you along the quitting roller coaster.  Look around and let us know how we can help!

Get juice out. Get small rewards ready for first two weeks. Everyday you earn something.magazine ice cream hair brush. Anything you normally pass. It's hard work and you earn a small reward.

Get a counter to see how far you come and so you know what you will lose if you have one

Most important is nope. Not one puff ever

Huge welcome...so glad you found us...

Congrats on your great decision to quit..

Take your seat on the train....it goes all the way to freedom....

You just need to want to quit ...more than you want to smoke...

Stay close ,post often....you can do it...x

Welcome to the QT Kendra :)

Hiya and welcome Kendra.

Pleased you found us, online support was a crucial tool for so many of us :)

xx

Welcome aboard Kendra...my quit would not have been successful without the support of many of these fine members...lean on them and they will help you through some tough times...one day at a time, and Not One Puff Ever...before you know it, the months will be piling up behind you...stick close and use the resources that's available here...

Welcome Kendra!   Sounds like your almost through Hell week (the first week quit) and that is fantastic!   Cut yourself some slack right now when it comes to your emotions.  I cried for weeks and I'm not a crier at all.  It will pass and slowly you will begin to feel like yourself again.  I look forward to watching your journey!

Thank you for the warm welcome, suggestions, information and encouragment.

Hey Kendra - like your gravatar.  I think that's the key - count the blessings, don't cry about the loss.

And yes, it totally is a new life.  Pretty amazing, transformative, brilliant.  It'll be HARD but nothing really great comes without a fight.

Rock on.

Hi Kendra - welcome aboard and so glad you found us :-). Read up, plan distractions and stay close - we are all proof that quitting smoking is possible !! Looking forward to sharing this journey with you :-)

Nice to meet you Kendra. You are doing great :)

Welcome Kendra! How is it going so far?

Thanks for asking Devil Doll.  Really, thanks.

So far it is going INCREDIBLY.

I am deeply grateful that I experienced very few physical cravings; that I am navigating the psychological addiction with humor, grace and tears, ~ and hope and pray that continues to be the way I meet this.   I spend much time lurking about QT...laughing at the many threads and posts..., and trying to develop my technological skills at posting pics and stuff to share with people.   I have juiced, exercised (or what passes in my world), rewarded and held Self with compassion and tried not to fall into beating myself up for the many years I have slowly killed myself.

I have posted, read, reread, and NOPED myself to today and will keep doing so.

I deeply appreciate QT and the people here.

You're doing great!!! Keeps us updated :D

Nice post Kendra!  I am all about the tears.  In the past I allowed my crying tendencies to ruin my quits.  This time around I am proud my tears - seeing them as evidence that I can accomplish this goal.  At times it has been mildly embarrassing but I try to keep in mind that quitting is not for the faint of heart.  A lot of emotions surface during the quit - - - grief, anger and the lot.  Be prepared and enjoy your success!

I am glad to hear that you have embraced your quit ! .. as TEW said..its not for the faint of heart!..You have to remain focused and committed..In my opinion, it sounds like you are rocking this quit, and will be a huge asset to this board and future quitters...

keep on keeping on!

:D

Oh...and keep us posted on how your doing...we all like to know how the new members are progressing.
