We lied to ourselves.  We buried our head in the sand.  However...We knew.  We didn't want to acknowledge it, but we knew.

There was always an underlying anxiety that went with being a smoker.  Knowing full well that we were killing ourselves, but choosing to continue out of fear and doubt.  I don't miss carrying that weight on my shoulders.

Good riddance to deadly addictions.

I just got off the phone with my mother in-law, at almost 60 her oldest son was told he had a large mass on one of his lungs that's growing and most likely cancer. He refused a biopsy and was told he had 6 months to live if he does nothing. He's also schizophrenic so upon hearing this news he quit smoking but also quit his medication. Luckily they got him back on it and he has stayed quit although unfortunately it's too late for him.................

Don't let this be you! Quit NOW!!!!

So sorry Jillar ☹️☹️  My dad had an order for a biopsy around 62 maybe and he refused too, I love my daddy to bits and don’t fault him for anything but, anyway, he got very very sick around 66/67 and passed at 67.  It’s the worst.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
