  3. Hey eight toe Joe, just wanted to let you know that the 2019 quitters call themselves the ash kickers. Here's the logo if you'd like to put it in your signature We also have tickers for your signature that keep track of the time, money saved and cigarettes not smoked since you quit. It's super motivating and will also show you what you stand to lose should you cave to a crave. You can find the tab to create one at the top of the forum
  4. I'm guessing 2 is the lie because I've seen your linkedIn profile and you don't have a beard. And it seems to me I would remember if you were a fellow twin

    True or False

False, and I don't want one either! TNP still writes good old fashioned checks to pay most their bills
  6. Hi Diane, what you are experiencing is totally normal. Your body is working hard to heal from all the damage smoking has done. So if it's tired, rest. Hungry, eat. Craving sweets, eat a candy or drink some fruit juice. Just let your body dictate what it needs right now. Many of us experience shortness of breath after quitting. I have asthma and my breathing got so much worse I was questioning why I even quit! But, it does get better. To ease your worry though it's never a bad idea to talk to your dr. about it. My cousin quit and doesn't have asthma but her Dr. gave her a rescue inhaler to use for that first month or so. She's great now. Congrats on being past day !
  7. Welcome back eight toe Joe and congratulations on 11 days quit The brain fog does suck but most of us went through it and it's only temporary. What helps many of us is drinking juice and eating something sweet. I sucked on soft peppermint puffs for months and not only did it help with the brain fog but it helped with cravings too because I never smoked and ate candy at the same time. Stay close, post an SOS if you feel yourself caving to a crave and let's get you past that part
  8. According to the tv program last night, Juul shut down their social media accounts and pulled their original ad after about six months. Was damage done, yes of course, and they acknowledged that by shutting down the accounts. They also pulled certain flavors that were appealing to youth off the market. Let's not forget that we can blame the tobacco and vaping companies all we want but where are the parents in all this? And what about the store owners who are selling these products? Unfortunately according to the tv program last night, you can purchase this stuff off EBay so that should be banned as well.
  9. Unicycle tricks in the big ring. That would

  18. I'm giving him props for apologizing on tv to parents. We've all done something that was wrong in varying degrees so that he's willing to apologize and probably risk his job for doing so goes a long way in my book.....
  19. Test completed. Anonymous users are anonymous and only you can see your name. Thank you rixcz and MQ for fixing this. And thanks too for bringing back the online users list because I've always enjoyed seeing what topics others are viewing. It's a great way to find old topics not yet read

  23. Hi Diane, to be honest, my whole first year sucked. BUT, I was my own worse enemy. Like Nancy said, once you realize smoking offers nothing positive, you'll have a much easier time. I see that you're quit date is July 11? So you already have three days under your belt. That's half way through what we call hell week. The name speaks for itself.... It's not going to be easy but it is doable, IF you truly are ready to quit......
  24. I've done it for so long now that can you believe I can't remember what made me start?

    when will i feel good

Richard all of that is normal for the first two or three months. But I promise you you will feel better soon. Think of it as a reminder for if you ever think about relapsing. You can remember how sucky these first months were so you don't have to go through them again! I used to read my posts every monthaversary just so I wouldn't forget where I came from. And let me tell you, I had awful quit stuff going on. My gums bled, my tongue hurt, I couldn't sleep for weeks, it was horrible. But reading that each month reminded me that no way did I want to go through that again! At 54 days you'll soon start seeing the great benefits instead of the bad effects. Heck you've already seen one by getting off the alprazolam

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
