  1. I'm pretty sure kids these days are a lot more well informed about the dangers of smoking than most of us were growing up. It may still be seen as cool or edgy in some circles but I think those are fewer and fewer all the time. I'm guessing Vape is the new "cool" thing rather than smoking ciggies.! I like what the Aussies are doing. Hitting people in the pocketbook while making smoking a severe social stigma as time goes on. Think about it for a moment. Just the cost of a pack of smokes is prohibitive so, if your friends or neighbours see you smoking a cig? They're gonna think you're an idiot Double whammie ?
  2. Watch out Babe! Naughty names may draw the attention of management Even Titwank was pretty avant-garde ?
  3. Beiber's an A-hole and has always been one. Embarrassed to admit I come from the same country as him! Self-entitled jerk that has NO sense of community or personal pride, let alone self discipline. This is wot happens when you are incredibly famous when you're like13 years old or whatever and under the influence of a management group that are all a bunch of yes men/women. No mommy or daddy influences. Youth run amuck with too much $$ and no real guidance! Make no mistake about it, the best part of Justin Beiber, ran down his mothers leg at conception! What a waste of an otherwise promising life for someone who received the great gift of a singing voice. OK, so ..... let me know if you didn't get the message that I'm actually not a Bieber fan
  4. 19 ..... take it someone!!
  5. ^^^ YES, THIS! Changing your "smoking routine" is absolutely key to breaking your own personal smoking cycle. The sooner you start down that path, the more quickly your brain will get used to not associating certain places and situations with smoking. Starting early is a good thing
  6. There is an area below your profile name where you can create your Mantra in text and see it every time you look at one of your posts. It will be somewhere in the edit profile area I expect - can't remember at the moment but let us know if you need help. Some one will know how to create that. Also, go to the SOS page and post up a "Pre-Respond to Your Own SOS" message. This is something you can go to immediately if you are feeling weak. Reading a message from yourself may be more meaningful than anything someone else can say in the heat of the moment. Go have a look. You'll see many of us have posted up something meaningful to us
  7. Welcome to Quit Train Sneaky You have come to the right place for not only support from others who totally get what you are going through but also a ton of educational information about this nicotine addiction that we all share. And, at the end of the day, educating yourself about how nicotine addiction works is key to quitting long term! I too quit spur of the moment too a little over a year ago. I can tell you that what has got me through to this point was my own unwavering personal commitment, support from other smokers who were in the same boat that I was and learning all I could about how this addiction tries to keep you in it's clutches no matter what. I can also tell you there's nothing better than the feeling you have once you have done all this hard work and you realize .... you've turned the corner on this deadly addiction Nothing better!
  8. Well done Rose! You are now 1/4 year smoke free We are all proud of the job you've done as you should be too! Hope you celebrate by doing something really special for yourself.
  9. So happy for you Sslip! 6 Months is a really big milestone to reach in your quit. If you have made it this far, you know you're good to go in reaching that Lido Deck And the fact that you are so active here in helping others achieve their goals is something we all appreciate and something you should be very proud of. Hope you celebrate this special occasion in style
  10. So ........ who's fault is this coach?
  11. The moment you know you will never be able to go back to Boston again!
  12. But, but ..... Beiber's Canadian ....... your kid doesn't like Canadians?
  13. Yeah well; we're only 1/2 way there now. Lots can and probably will happen. Stay tuned

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
