  2. This video may help answer your question Listen to @Linda Thomas, she has this experience with her parents. I am so sorry you are going through this too. Please, continue to believe in yourself. You do not deserve to be abused. Remove yourself as much as possible from their sphere, you can have a free life, a peaceful life, an enriched life. I know I found people outside my family for support and appropriate love and care when my family gave me short shrift. Now my support network is worldwide ! Take good care of yourself and your quit. You are winning and your self confidence and trust in yourself will continue to flourish.

  10. Quitting smoking and putting the addiction to sleep may lead you to many, many changes and opens you up to an whole new world. Freedom is delicious. That monkey on our backs took up so much time, energy, money, health. Ridiculous !
  11. This is a great concert.
  12. Just back from walking about a mile in the heat. I came in, removed my shoes and walked straight into the shower, clothes and all. Now in the luxury of AC, ceiling fans and a pint glass of ice water.

  15. I am so glad you are rocking your quit, @Solo ! I try to keep abreast of things and I was sorry to learn that I missed your Blog completely. Luckily with education (we are in the 21 Century ffs), most people understand more about depression. The days of, 'get over it, it's just in your head' are OVER. Our brains are complicated universes. I am so happy to hear you are feeling 'whole within myself' again. Now, the benefits of being nicotine free will really kick in. Remember, your quit is still young. Stay alert and vigilant...there may still be a few triggers to conquer and brain receptors to get back on the good foot.

  17. Good to see you ! So how long have you been quit ? Did you stick with your January 14, 2019 quit ? I am happy to hear that you are beginning to normalize. It was a happy challenge to re-invent myself as a nicotine free person. Perhaps, your husband will be led by your example, that is really all we can hope for or, throw him in the shower, brush his teeth before you bestow your gifts on him. lol. Keep your quit separate from him, from life and protect it with everything you have.

  19. Congratulations Paul on your Six Years of Freedom ! Wonderful to hear J is doing OK, too. Hope her back heals quickly. (has she tried a Tens machine ? ) Yum, prosciutto ! I would be an endless XXXX size if prosciutto and beer were on offer. Thanks for popping in with your wisdom, it is always great to read you and thank you for your guidance in my quit, this helped me build a strong one. Please celebrate and reward yourselves, Six Years is an excellent milestone.

  21. OK, glad you are not missing or smoking. I don't know if this applies to you but, caffeine tolerance can change as you quit smoking. Remember there is caffeine in so many products, aspirin, cola, chocolate... Perhaps this is contributing to your sleeplessness.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
