  1. Great thread, Markus. 2. Sounds fun.
  3. Not smoking and all of the freedom and benefits quitting smoking brings about will last forever. The initial "newness" one feels when they first quit often relents and leaves quitters wondering where the benefits went but the non-action of no longer being a smoker is the lasting reward. Great thread! Glad to see you're finding your new normal; a normal that was meant for you and one that you certainly deserve and have earned. :)
  4. NOPE. Despite what may happen and where my thoughts go, I am 100% committed to never taking another puff. Not one single puff ever, no matter what! :)
  5. Whoever wrote that is nothing short of a genius. What incredible insight this person has :dirol: .
  6. Great post and insight. I too would always worry if I had enough smokes to last at work. What if I had to work over? Would I have enough? It was like almost a panic if I was running low. Now, all that stress is gone.

  12. If for some reason you started smoking again, no shame in coming back. The majority of us have relapsed so it's nothing new but you need to learn about this addiction and stay active to beat it. At least it makes it much easier. :)
  13. I know for me, I'd much rather deal with withdrawal than any of the diseases caused by smoking. Actually, I'd rather deal with withdrawal than even having the flu.
  14. Video discusses that the real roller coaster ride that people experience from cigarettes is not from quitting but rather from continuing to smoke. http://www.quittrain.com/topic/4753-videos-addressing-issues-early-in-your-quit/?p=136950
  15. Quitting smoking is really a simple process. However, "simple" does not always mean "easy". This video explains the difference between the two. http://www.quittrain.com/topic/4753-videos-addressing-the-first-two-weeks-of-your-quit/?p=136126
  16. I haven't seen it yet but his death was unsettling. Always seemed like just a regular guy like I would hang out with. Didn't seem to buy into his own hype, although who could blame him if he did? That was a sad one for sure.
  17. I watched my grandfather suffer for years with this. It's no way to live.
  18. GR8 job!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
