  1. I will not smoke today. Thank you too, Doreen! It is so nice that you and others remain here. Conviction to "the quit", knowledge of addiction, experiences of others in sharing the quitting process are, all very important. Having accepting friends who understand our addiction is, the greatest gift of all.
  2. Mike.

    Mike's back!

Thanks! Nice of you to acknowledge me. I was going to go it alone. I went to the WhyQuit.com site for education on quitting and soon realized that is not what I needed. It's not support I need either. Just the being with other quits, works for me! Now, we'll see how it goes, (the quit). I don't mean if I will quit or not. Oops! I see a few more posters in this thread too. I only read buMbLeB's post. Hi everyone and thank you too!
  3. Hey, Fantastic Runfree! Way to go! You made it look easy. An amazing feet. lol. So, how does it feel?
  4. I just felt like saying, Hi! I'm still smober and read here, off and on. There is always something I can take away from each thread, that is inspirational/supportive/enlightening/ blah, blah. I really enjoyed reading some of the posts today and felt nostalgic enough about our relationships that, I wanted to post a note. So, I haven't fallen off the edge of the world, Markus. You do know that the earth is really round shapped, don't you? lol. (I remember a post of yours, about going out to the farm in Texas and screaming in primal rage) ... Made me think of people I read about a long time ago, who were supposedly Texans, who thought NASA's space program was a hoax and, I think they still thought the earth was flat. Maybe my memory has failed me. I dunno? ... I was trying to funny, pal. Anyways, love to all.
  5. Please don't worry Jackie. It doesn't help you or I. I will post an SOS first, if another event happens, that seriously jeopardizes my quit. Thanks, everyone.
  6. Quit Smoking Discussions "A place for all discussions relating to quitting smoking and staying quit. The sky is the limit so jump in and enjoy the fresh air!" Hi, Everyone! I wasn't sure which forum, to post this in. I read the above and figured it fits, here. I recently made the decision to not involve myself here anymore. (truly, for a *number* of reasons). I have talked with people, about my reasons and within those discussions, made the comments that I had no intention of writing a "Swan Song" and leaving. But, I have wrestled with finding a way to tell everyone, who might be wondering, what has become of me. I can only think of doing this, to let you know, "what's up". I am not leaving the forum nor, have I been asked to. No sanctions have been placed on my postings, here. I am leaving my registration "open", to use as I choose and ... (may need for continued smobriety). I am trying to do, what Trace mentioned once, which is, (paraphrase), close some doors of unhappiness and move on ... with strength to strength. That's, "what's up". Nothing more. Those "doors" have to do with real life stuff, that needs my attention, and very little to do with cyberspace. Who knows, (I don't), I may even want to post here again sometime for, altruistic reasons. I will leave that open too! I just can't do this right now. I need to invest more effort and time with ... what Trace said. I offer my best wishes, to you all. m/
  7. Yep! Waking up, and contemplating my day without 5 cigarettes the first hour, was always the worst. Think of it still, in my new quit again. I do remember going months (yep) where it didn't happen in longer quits, so I am holding on for that again! +1 for the way you are approaching your days and quit. What are these blow pops you speak of. I'm a Canadian, it's not a term/name I am familiar with ... Or, maybe it's just that I am just old, now. Don't know???
  8. That's exactly right! 'nuff said ...
  9. Don't watch the song Stu. Unless you want to show off in your skirt. lol Happy Happy.
  10. Well, I thought most people would see right away, that it was a metaphorical screaming. I do say "No" out loud but, only when I am alone. What a stupid thing for Stephanie to jump all over with, in a thread to a Newbie.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
