  8. Congratulations on reaching 3 months smoke free @GonSo! You're doing great and you must be proud to have reached this milestone! 9. Thanks!! Yes, 3 months already! Still having tough days, or better said, tough evenings. Other moments get me by surprise and I find that sometimes hard. The early days it was more or less a given that cravings were there almost the entire day. Before I quit I thought that getting up in the morning would be the hardest as I had to smoke three cigarettes before I was truly awake. Surprisingly it is not; evenings are. Tired of that, to be honest. I had one smoking dream couple of weeks ago. In that dream I did not smoke but was fighting cravings that were so bad and I was so tempted to smoke. Horrible. On to month 4!!

  10. Congratulations @SD2026 on 1 month smoke free! The most difficult month in the quit, IMO. You are doing really well and should be proud of yourself. Stay close to this forum and you will make it to the Lido deck before you know it. Onward to month 2.

  11. That's the worst of quitting done & dusted! 1 whole month smoke free is a huge step forward toward a life time of smoke-free living! You've developed a nice tool kit of quitting tools to fight the sneaky nico demon when he comes calling and trying to get you to abandon your fight. Use every tool in your tool kit to fight for your freedom. You have so much invested and by now you know you CAN make it! Congrats and treat yourself with something very nice to mark this important milestone

  19. It does get better @SD2026, each month will get a bit better and by the time you are at a year, you shouldn't have these withdrawal symptoms anymore. You may get an occasional urge but it's much different than the ones you are experiencing now. They are basically few and far between and go away in a few seconds to a couple mins. You will get there, just keep doing what you are doing!!

  20. Congrats on 3 months @GonSo!! Evenings were tough for me, too… as were vacations. “Downtime” without nicotine was an adjustment. But it keeps getting better. And you now have 3 months of living proof that you don’t need those nasty smokes! Onward and upward!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
