Offhand i don’t recall my quit date but it’s been some years. Living my life without smoking is just normal now, of course, but to be honest, over the years there have been times where the demons reappear and i need to fight the urge to smoke. I’ve realized through my last quit that i’m an addict and cigarettes are my drug of choice. Living by the motto of Not One Puff Ever really means something. Once an addict always an addict, and although i won the fight it’s a lifelong battle to make the right choice. I’ve dropped in on occasion over the years when times were tough and these posts really help. Thanks to those that post. NOPE1 point

I just wanted to say hello, and say that I quit today! I smoked for ten years, 20-25 cigarettes per day. I was successful at quitting for about 6 months in 2019 but relapsed. My biggest motivation is that I have forgotten what it feels like to be healthy, and I long for that feeling. I had my last cigarette 2 hours ago. Wish me luck!1 point

Nicotine will be gone from your body in roughly 3 days - not from your mind though. Remember why you quit and stay strong to that commitment. You can do it. We all have gone through the same thing so it is possible1 point

Run. Not long - 5 minutes - as long as smoking the cigarette would have taken... as fast as you can keep it up for 5 minutes. Guaranteed you won't want a smoke for quite a while afterword. Want to kill the craves for all day? Go on a 10-miler. Easy Peasy1 point
