August 17, 201412 yr It's wild to come here and find so many people I was getting to know in another world... I'm whackamole, recently hounded off the Q**B, and I'm really happy to be here! I use Champix, and it's helped keep me quit for just over a month. Am feeling pretty good, pretty strong... have almost no cravings at all except when I picture sitting in a NOLA bar. So, I have to not picture sitting in a NOLA bar. Seems doable. Apparently, I have some disturbing ideas that screw with the minds of newbies. I like to think about stuff, is all. What I don't like is Allen Carr (heh heh) or any kind of rote fanaticism. I want to support all you guys the best I can. Smoking was part of me for almost 40 years, so I'm learning to be a (slightly) different person. I guess that's what we all have to do, huh? Thanks. This already feels like home.
August 17, 201412 yr Welcome :) I used Chantix too and it really helped. You'll find all kinds of different quit methods in use here and all are supported in their efforts to quit. Quitting is the point here. Not drama. The owner of this board has been giving away Allen Carr books. I'm guessing you won't want one? hahahahahaha
August 17, 201412 yr Author Hi, welcome. Did you bring your balloon dogs? ;) Of course I did, Beacon. Is there any particular colour you're missing?
August 17, 201412 yr Welcome! I am also using Chantix. It has been a real help. Finding this board has been a godsend! Here I didn't have to be afraid to admit that my previous quit attempts failed. Although my quit has been pretty smooth sailing, if I hit a bump in the road the Quit Train folks are here for me. I just know you'll love it here :) Thanks for bringing your balloons along for celebrations :)
August 17, 201412 yr Hello! Trust you had a safe journey across cyberspace :) Great to have you (and your dogs), and I hope you find this place as good for you, as you will be for it ;)
August 17, 201412 yr Welcome!! Fellow Chantix user although I ditched it fairly early, personal choice an all. It's alright here, they are pretty open minded :) Congrats on your quit and look forward to sharing the journey from here. x

August 17, 201412 yr Hi!! :welcome: So happy you found your way to our little "family"... it's a really supportive group, ... here on the QT the goal is to help newbies quit,.. help those who have quit stay quit... and have as much fun in between as possible. ... sooooo,( I gather you have your balloons - i have my cyber cookies- and they're calorie free ;) )... come on in and have some cookies and join the fun!
August 17, 201412 yr Welcome, whackamole! Glad you found us. I used Wellbutrin XL and it took me ~3 weeks or so before I went off of it. It did it's mysterious trick and made me nauseous to smoke. Made me very, very irritable though and I couldn't even stand to be around myself. lol It work and although I told my doctor I didn't want it, I'm glad I took his advice and tried it. The most challenging part about staying quit is letting ourselves enjoy everything that we did as smokers, as non-smokers. I've been thinking about this for days now because a lot of members have been having these issues. Not cravings per se, but triggers that can lead to them. Glad to have ya on the train! :)
August 17, 201412 yr Author For my one year, maybe a red one? You betcha. Thanks everybody. Hey Pippa!
August 17, 201412 yr The 'house' episode, 'whackamole' the kid stopped smoking without even trying. His illness made him lose the taste for it. And it was the kid actor from 'almost famous.' Again, welcome WAM. :D Congrats on a great decision quitting!
