November 16, 20205 yr Its official, 41 counties in California moved back into the purple (most restrictive) tier and our county is one of them. 😞
November 17, 20205 yr There is renewed talk of curfews as a means of "stopping the spread." On the issue of curfews, John Swartzberg, clinical professor emeritus of infectious diseases and vaccinology at the University of California-Berkeley said: "There's no good science to support that they work and there's no good science to support that they don't work. We don't really know." Reminds me of the "Bear Patrol" episode of The Simpsons...
November 18, 20205 yr Author We have just come out of lockdown, which included 8pm to 5am curfew, with permits required to be out of your home for >1hr. Victoria is now covid free, no active cases at all. Masks are are still compulsory.
November 20, 20205 yr Limited curfews start this Saturday for 41 counties in the purple, or worse, tier from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am until December 21...
November 20, 20205 yr Our county is in the orange stage and also have a curfew of 10pm. With only outside dining, take out and delivery. We are one stage away from another complete shut down again.
November 20, 20205 yr My home testing kit result has arrived back .....Negative ..... I've never been so pleased to see a negative result in a long time ..since we didn't want to add to our family !!!! And Breath !!!!!!🐸👍
November 20, 20205 yr The hoarding toilet paper has begun again but I found a pretty reliable connection.......
November 21, 20205 yr It is really getting bad over here. Ohio is on the verge of level 4. Not only do we have to fear the grocery store for catching this illness, I can not believe how much deeper I have to go in my pockets to pay the bill. I use to drop $100. a week for groceries and now I can't get out of the store under $160. a week. How much of this is just taking advantage of us during di fficult times. I was going to pick up another container of the antibacterial wipes and they wanted $6.00 for thrirty wipes. If anyone does not know how, here is a video to make your own. Too bad they don't have a do it yourself toilet paper idea. My grandmother use to tell us that they used the Sear's shopping catalog as toilet paper. Hmmmmm, I guess you really have to be desperate!
November 21, 20205 yr Curfew starts today in our county and because we're in the purple tier. No social gatherings are allowed indoor or out and already on day 1 I see my neighbor putting up a bouncy house for a birthday party and we've been invited downtown to another birthday party complete with live band. And people wonder why our numbers remain high..... 😞
November 21, 20205 yr ^^ It's pretty simple really: 1. Avoid contact with people outside your own household. That means 6 ft or 2 meters distance minimum, from ALL people outside your household ALL the time! Even, and particularly, gatherings with relatives and close friends is dangerous and is now one of the primary spreader events. 2. Wear a mask properly when you are out in public, particularly when indoors. The mask protects others from your exhaled droplets and protects you from a greater degree of virus droplets you may come in contact with (you'll get less sick with a lower dose of droplets ingested). 3. Step up your personal hygiene practices! Wash your hands properly and for the appropriate length of time and do it often. Use hand sanitizer often as it is now supplied in most settings these days. Don't touch your face if you can possibly avoid it (that takes awareness and practice). If people did these three simple things (I mean everyone; not just some), there would be no need for shutdowns and other personal restrictions because people would themselves not attend potentially dangerous events no matter what they might be.
November 22, 20205 yr Another march in Liverpool this weekend ..... A Freedom March .....against the Lockdown .....well.... If they had stuck to what Reci had posted above ....there wouldn't be a Lockdown .... Crazy !!!!
November 30, 20205 yr Cases are soaring here again and governor Newsome is contemplating another round of stay at home orders in the coming days. 😞 Its really no surprise to me as I continue to have people coming over to visit my husband with no masks on either them or him. The father of our new neighbors even came over and shook hands with the guys that were here! 😠
December 4, 20205 yr Its official, back to lockdown beginning Saturday for a minimum of three weeks 😞
December 4, 20205 yr G’day Here in my state of Qld we are opening the borders and slowly excepting the easing of the restrictions on our life’s. Youd think we would be totally happy but not so. At the back of your mind there’s a fear. Not so much of the Covid but a fear of the restrictions returning. I truly don’t know how I could shut down again so I really feel for those that have to now. Go well guys and gals.... and god bless us all
December 7, 20205 yr The vaccine starts her tomorrow...some care homes care workers and front line workers . And so it starts !!!!!
December 15, 20205 yr I have now lost a loved one to this dreaded virus. My dear aunt, may her soul rest in peace, passed yesterday, 12/14. She was in a memory care facility for the last 17 months due to Alzheimer's. All but 4 residents currently have the virus. So sad, they were doing so good until very recently. I was deathly afraid to but I went to see her last Thursday. I had to wear an N95 mask, face shield, robe, and footies to go over my shoes. I brought my own goggles for extra protection. What a disaster the U.S. is. It breaks my heart.
December 15, 20205 yr Oh no @Mona, I'm so sorry for your loss. Our poor assisted living facilities are getting hit hard here too. Its just horrible, 360 new cases in our county in the last 24 hours. It is heartbreaking but I'm really glad you got to see her before she died.....😢
December 15, 20205 yr I'm glad I got to see her too even though she wasn't doing well at all. I'm sure she's in a better place but I'm still terribly sad.
