We can’t get to the stage where We are burying our nearest and dearest in mass graves like is happening now around the world. Please don’t ever lose hope.... the day will come when the Snags will be again on at the big green shed...... thanks Chris At least you guys are acknowledging what is happening. Try living over here. I try not to get into politics but it is crazy here. 😞 Our commander in chief keeps ignoring it and saying it is just the flu and will go away. He has made the mask a political issue. Many feel it is just a hoax. In the meantime or numbers keep growing. I am very sad for our country. Chris, I am sorry to hear about your relatives. Jo hang in there. This sure is a tough situation! July 21, 20206 yr @Doreensfree - Looks like you Brits have a promising vaccine trial on the go for this Covid-19 virus. Here's hoping it keeps progressing favourably 🤞 I may not be the complete answer but looks promising so far. At the very least it's a good step forward https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/oxford-cansino-vaccine-teams-say-early-reports-show-desired-immune-responses-1.5031017

July 25, 20206 yr @Mee ; I actually saw that today on the local morning news here, as we're very close to the falls. They are starting to open up more now here though. Next week there's restaurants & bars opening up but with 20% previous capacity and all kinds of other rules. they are expecting numbers to spike some as a result. The interesting things here is that now almost 75% of the new cases are with under 40's! Once they started loosening controls, it was party, party time and guess what?? Social distancing is where it's really at. All the other mask & hand washing stuff is merely icing on the cake. You're welcome to come and stay at my place for awhile. Just gotta swim across the Niagara river to get here - lol Here's my tip: Don't swim across near the whirlpool 😵
July 26, 20206 yr Just been around to my little Handy shop ..... The women in there were all wearing masks .....Not one man came in and put a mask on ... I Don't remember hearing men are exempt....

The police have said they don't have the manpower to enforce the fines .... Sticks cheat everywhere ....

July 27, 20206 yr Schools in our city are going to be virtual through spring next year! Our governor has ordered all counties on the state's watch list to start schools virtually next month and stay that way until they've shown a reduction in cases for 14 consecutive days!
July 27, 20206 yr I should also add that our poor healthcare workers are taking a beating, in less than one weeks time there's been almost 100 new cases among them. From 193 to 290! 😢
July 27, 20206 yr Now ....Boris is on a mission to trim is all down ....it seems were all too fat ..... Junk food is cheaper here ....bring down the prices of good healthy food ... I will be following this with interest 😁...
July 28, 20206 yr The update for the last 24 hours just came out, healthcare workers now at 320 cases 😢 Our frontliners sure need some positive thoughts and prayers right now.... It makes me wonder if the protective gear they got in a hurry is defective?

Our governor has ordered all counties on the state's watch list to start schools virtually next month and stay that way until they've shown a reduction in cases for 14 consecutive days! Schools here were that way March through end of school year in late June. It was a disaster. Teachers incapable and untrained to deliver "virtual lessons" and kids who would rather go play hoops with their friends than sit inside the house with parents working from home. Of course in this day and age, everyone gets a ribbon and no one is left behind so .... on to the next grade for all (qualified or not) So far, they're gonna send all the rug-rats back to class full time come early Sept. That won't happen if we experience a 2nd wave by then. The issue becomes one of who's gonna stay home to be with the kids when they are being taught on-line? The bar tender or nurse or restaurant cook or truck driver who can't possibly stay home? It's a real conundrum! I don't have the answer but it will be a real shame if this current generation of kids get short changed on their education 😒
July 28, 20206 yr I agree @reciprocity, our schools have been out since March also so pretty much a whole year of no in school learning for these kids but if that's what it takes to get rid of this horrible disease it'll be worth it I guess.
July 28, 20206 yr Yeah, it's a tough deal all around. I expect I'm like most people and not much liking the "new normal" 😷

I swear it's giving me an ulcer.
