  4. 1 year update. the big finale. the exciting news. y'all ready for this??? There is literally nothing to update. I have said it all before. Another day has come and gone without smoking just like the 365 days before this one. Did I think about smoking? Probably. Do I still want one? on some level probably yeah. But not smoking is the norm now. was it worth the hell to get to this point? absolutely. not being controlled by a chemical cocktail inside a smoldering piece of paper is relieving. it's almost like waking up from a bad dream. The smoking has lost control of me. The quitting is losing control and just being an average person who doesn't smoke is right in front of me. it doesn't mean I'm letting my guard down though. It just means I'm treating smoking like any other drug I don't do. I don't think about not doing heroine all day long because I don't use it. Same with cigarettes. That's it. All you 2021 quitters that have hit the lido deck before me, I salute you. All those that haven't made it yet, stay with us and your time will come. All those that fell off, get back on. Once you realize that you can free your mind from the addiction and that you can direct your thoughts, your ass has no choice but to follow. It will rebel at first but it has to toe the line the mind draws. And for all those long time quitters who still come here to help slobs like me, you have my utmost respect and admiration. Good night quit train. Pleasant smoke free dreams.

  6. thanks everybody. it means a lot to have made it to deck and to have gotten so much support along the way. and most of all i thank Boo and monkey GIF. there's power in that thing I swear.

  8. @11better11it certainly was for me. but you have to counter that thought with another one like, "breathe deep, if I keep smoking I won't be able to do that." whenever you have a thought about smoking you have to counter it immediately.
  9. I finally got around to watching this. There is a certain brain state that they look for while you are asleep that provides for the rewiring of the brain to associate nicotine with a bad experience. According to what this guy says in the earlier part is that if you actively were to do that it wouldn't work because he said once you are aware it doesn't work. The cool thing is that there are ways to hack your brain. In a way there is a magic bullet. It doesn't make the path easier it just makes you want to take that hard path and fall in love with the process. that's what i got out of it.
  10. @DenaliBlueswhat's next? your life and being able to live it to the fullest. you aren't dragging around that awful burden now so go out and find out just how fantastic you can be. Surprise yourself!!!

  19. 4 mile walk. 100 squats. 15 pushups. 17 pullups. 3 hanging seizures (couldn't quite finish that 2nd set of pullups).

  23. congrats @Mee4 years is a mighty fine quit. well done.
  24. @Lindayou can do this. you took a little vacation from your quit. it will take you a few weeks to settle back in to the routine of doing something other than smoking. Just like when you take a vacation from work. it's a kind of tough to get back in the routine but after a week or two it was like you never had any time off at all. I have faith in you.
  25. Yesterday did a 4 mile walk. Today. 40 squats, 2.25 mile walk, 30 squats, 1.25 mile walk, 30 squats, .5 mile walk, 10 pullups
