  1. 9. sandblast paint or whatnot off of things
  2. Dear QT Riders, I deeply appreciate your support and celebration. I am delighted to be a month quit.
  3. Kate, Congratulations on 3 wonderful years of breathing AIR. Bet it feels delightful to not think about lighting up.
  4. Hey Molly, Glad you have found a groove into week 2 of non-slavery to nicotine. Just keeping on keeping on and the days pile up. Still having a tough time myself at times. Most of the time I don't think about smoking at all and sadly I do seem to have replaced smoking with food for the dopamine receptor situation. Reread the thread Doreen bumped , nicodemon lies? ... I do hear myself in there a few places. Really WANT to BE an EX-Smoker for the remainder of my time, I get that I am always one decision away from giving it away. REALLY appreciate the folks here who always extend the welcome and support. Being a 3 time (maybe 4) QT rider, it really means a lot to have people continue to help in ways that are actually helpful (as always defined by the helpee) to becoming and remaining smoke free. So many factors in life , so many choices, so many excuses, so much to determine, so hard to love. May each of you BE the FREE Being that you desire and hold yourselves dear and true....all ways.
  5. Hello Molly. Glad you are on the Quit Train and having a great day. I am still here. too! I am not far along in my quit and the desire to smoke is present lots. Jillar's 'air cigarette' tool really works for me sometimes. I use Chrysallis' 5 more minutes mantra lots of times, then of course it turns into remaining quit. Hoping you find your way through whatever comes up FREE from nicotine slavery today and everyday.
  6. Hello Companion Travelers on the Train of Freedom, Grateful beyond expression to NOT light up.... within the first 5 minutes of waking every day between tasks after work, before work and at lunch at work after eating, swimming or walking before bed Grateful that I have almost stopped wheezing. Grateful that I do not smell like smoke. Grateful for every moment I continue to BE FREE from nicotine slavery. Still scared. Still wobbly. Glad you all continue to BE here.
  7. Congratulations on 2 years AceWhite! Glad you are living the life you desire in full freedom from nicotine!
  8. Hurray for you and your freedom Denali Blues! A year is a great accomplishment and gift to yourself and lungs. May your freedom be forever and your kindness continue to lift up those on their paths to freedom. hoping you celebrate in whatever style sings to your heart...
  9. Hello Molly, Yay for reclaiming your life! Glad you're finding resources that lift you up....Allen Carr, Quit Train and your own thought process. Glad you have nonsmokers to be with in the early days. Quit Train is a wonderful support and BE willing to use it. I do recommend pre posting a response to your own S.O.S.. See the S.O.S. thread should you find that idea useful. Just breathe.
  10. Being FREE and sharing ....You have it all. Way to go, Catlover.
  11. Hello QT Folks, I am still here. Free from nicotine slavery. Could be more graceful and eloquent and pulled together, but hey, where's the fun in that? I am struggling everyday and making different crappy choices, and still grateful to be free of nicotine. Hopeful that things will level out and I will find my groove of feeling like me again. As it stands right now....I feel semi sick lots, low energy, eating way too much , not swimming anywhere near enough and enjoying the return of circulation, realizing and saying aloud I do not smoke whenever the urge comes up. I am being extra kid gloveish with myself when I am tired or grumpy.....I just stop.....often eat something....maybe just sit and breathe. Jillar's air cigarette seems especially useful when I am beyond my energy limit for the day and still need to get home before feeling "safe" from buying cigarettes. Have had a dental opportunity come up and am negotiating that delightful foray into the world of medical professionals. Really hoping I find the RIGHT dental care provider. Love the ones you're with and the ones who are far way as best you can.....today is all we ever have.
  12. Hello Slow Progress, So glad you found this train to FREEDOM. Not far along myself on the quit train. I, too, have been a decades long slave to nicotine and have had only brief respites of a year here and there.... Glad you will have the company of folks who're nonsmokers to be with over the next while. Be super kind to yourself. Make your quit THE top priority, even if it means you walk 5 miles with the dog every day, or stare vacantly at the sparkle box (TV) for longer than is healthy, or become enamored of a tea service ritual 10 times a day. You are saving YOU for you and those you hold dear..... and gaining FREEDOM from slavery to death one breath at a time. Very deeply sad story....my dear, dear colleague and I used to go out for smoke breaks announcing we were headed out to kill ourselves one breath at a time (because we KNEW that is exactly what we were doing) eventually , my dear friend called to say he was dying of stage four lung cancer and that I should enjoy the time I have with my wonderful husband and the ability to walk around and DO the things that bring me joy. Miss him ever so much. Any way....glad your progress has gotten you this far. Stick close. Read. Use the S.O.S. board if you even maybe vaguely think you might stick something in your mouth and light it on fire. Read Johnny5's tag line ...it pretty much says it all. Welcome.
  13. still on the train. dicey.
  14. Congratulations, Kerry, on your progress and momentum. Glad you are finding your way.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
