  1. Glad your feeling better.
  2. I've seen em too and was worrying that there was a big Anni I was missing...then I thought maybe someone birthday.....but maybe they just wanna hang and pay it forward.
  3. OK so this is a bit deceptive, I mean there are a whole cast of others who could be placed in here as options... and I was just going to go for the big two (Elvis & the Beatles) , but I don't really like either so needed a third option so I could actually vote myself... don't get me wrong, both acts were influential in the evolution of music, both had good songs...but both have been spoiled for me by others... so there were lots I could have chucked in there I chose Dylan because why Elvis might have freed our bodies, and the Beatles may have friend our souls Dylan freed our minds. But it was hard to pick a third, options included Johnny Cash who got a nod because of his influence on all genres including rap, The Stones, ACDC, The Saints, The Ramones, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Nirvana, Django Rienhardt, David Bowie... and about 100 others I haven't mentioned. The reality is there were 2 key acts that dominated the centuary, Elvis or the Beatles... that said Dylan is the most successful song writer so he has earned his place in this list... So who will it be... will it come down to the Brits v the Yanks... will the Dylan rule the day.
  4. Congratulations @Kate18 for being 1 month smoke free!!! Well done on being a whole month smoke free Kate. This is the hardest month of being smoke free and you have got through with your determination and your amazing baked goodies. Its great to see you NOPE each day and the determination and self commitment in those NOPEs you can do this sweetie, this is just the first of many anni posts coming your way. So rewards are really important during your quit, they are a major part of the whole process... so every day is a day to celebrate but your anniversaries are magical... let this day shine, just like you do.
  5. Congratulations @Christa326 for being 5 months smoke free. Well done Christa for building such a solid base for your quit and a life time smoke free. Its great to have you still on the train. Make sure you do something special to reward yourself and celebrate this milestone. We would love to here how you rewarded yourself.

  21. Welcome CP... So emotionally I didn't handle things too well on previous quits...partly it was not knowing about quitting affecting your blood sugar levels .. partly it's because smoking for me was very linked to my emotions. I knew that going in this time so I knew form me the important thing was to break the habit/ritual first. I needed to reprogram how I took breaks and rewarded myself and coped with stress...I had to reprogram all that stuff before dealing with the physical... I used NRT gum... Gave myself up to 6 months on it and i needed much less... Doesn't mean I still wasn't emotional..but it took the edge off to let me work on the harder part for me. Now Christmas I hear you... So down under in the wonderful land of Aus we do Christmas in July....basically because Chrissy time here is summer we miss out (or don't enjoy as much) tradition hot Christmas stuff. So Chrissy day is usually in the 30s Celsius...so in July we do Christmas dinner like you Noryhies and wear our jumpers... You could have a Christmas in July...and do Aussie Christmas foods...cold seafood platters, salads, cold game off the bone...cold roast chook..trifle..pavlova...jelly cups and fairy bread.....backyard cricket or would it be lacrosse for you lot or baseball.. Just so you have something to look forward to before next Chrissy...for 1 week you get to play the Chrissy carols and they don't send you mental...trust me 36c and songs about let it snow have wierd psychological effects.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
