  12. Great post Jo... What I have learnt over the years since I quit.... Yes I was scared of living without my crutch...how would I manage ...how will I reward myself..... When I smoked... the nature of the addiction took the fear away...nothing will happen to me ..puff puff....WRONG.... Something bad was happening...and I knew it was connected to smoking....but the fear of quitting was bigger ... Once I was given the choice...quit...or face the consequences.... It all came clear.... The nature of this horrible addiction is to take away your fear... to keep you hooked....until it kills you.... See what this addition is ... It's killed more good folks than all the wars out together....fear smoking...NOT quitting....
  13. Stay safe folks.... When you read a post like this...it really hits home what a stupid waste of time smoking was....it's hard work being a smoker.... Most of every day worrying about doing something ,that supposed to be pleasurable.... All lies....there is no pleasure spending every moment covering up your tracks.... Great post...and a truthful post....smoking is the Pitts.....
  14. Undertakers couldn't give a flying fig what you weigh ,when cigarettes have killed you.... Quitting is a journey....get to grips with your quit ....then when the time is right...worry about the few pounds ,if any you gained along the way... One day at a time...
  15. Upwards and onwards....keep going.!!!

  22. I too am sorry you smoked Lily....jump right back on..... Early in our quits ...we are all over the place...our bodies are messed up ... Some folks cry..some folks have temper fits..ect..we are all different.... Everyone travelling the train wants you to succeed.... We give support in different ways... Me...I get my cast iron frying pan out...nothing like a good whack...to clear the mind... Others ..speak straight ..no pussyfooting around....others..tap you with cotton wool...and speak softly... This is a killer addiction...which is slowly taking your life... Once you understand this addiction ..you will understand why things are posted... This is your life...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
