Sorry,Jess, I have to call bullshit on this one. you are letting the junkie take over...the smoking relieves the stress until the next time you have to feed the addiction...20 or 30 minutes, maybe? And, you know that very well...put on the big girl panties and get through it....just for today.
  6. So glad it is better...others are better at advice than me...but it all makes sense. Sorry to hear Mrs. B. still struggling...but happy there is progress..,proud to know you.
  7. lovely DD!
  8. So happy for you...one week is Huge!
  9. I will wait til I get mine and see what I am currently doing, before I join the challenge...I think it might take me awhile to catch up...

Wow! Truly unbelievable what we did to ourselves...you are an inspiration always, action!
  11. I have been too busy today to smoke...even if I wanted to...which I don't! NOPE!
  12. Good to see you...you are doing great!!
  13. Day almost done...but NOPE!
  14. So happy for the good news!! You have a lot to get through...but thank God you are not having to get through is as a smoker. Lots of prayers for you!
  15. I was not rolling easy at 3 months...I hit a rough patch and was crying and angry...I knew I wasn't going to smoke, but it was not easy. What helped me, though, was encouraging others who were just starting their quits...MG, they will relate to you much better than they will to me...so they need you. People who have been quit one day or one week do not want to hear from those of us who have longer quits...they want to hear from people right in front of them...so please don't underestimate your ability to make a huge difference for someone...even if you are struggling, yourself.
  16. oh, that is so funny!!

I asked Santa for a fitbit, and a beautiful sweater that I would never buy for myself... and now I will threaten posters that follow....if anyone says peace on earth or no smoking for the planet, I will nominate you for Miss Universe and then bop you on the head with my tennis racket (which I have not used recently). Imho...we should keep this one fun!!
  18. So good to see you Natalie.... and so very sorry about what happened to you...and glad you have the strength to quit, again. A few years ago I was robbed at gunpoint (2 men, 2 guns)...If you need someone to talk to, please pm... ((((Natalie))))
  19. So sorry I am late for the party, Gabby! Very proud and happy for you at 6 months...what a huge accomplishment! I hope you are doing something very special for yourself, today...after all you have saved over $5000!
  20. Every time you conquer a crave you get stronger. One thing I had to learn (for me it was at work)was that even though I was not smoking, it was okay to go walk around outside for a few minutes....for my alone time, or just to gather my thoughts. So glad you recognize that having "just one" is out of the question...one puff away from a pack a day. Look forward to celebrating one week!!
  21. Wonderful post lace, thanks for taking the time to share what surely will inspire someone still struggling... and so very thankful Mom and Dad are okay!!
  22. You are doing great Jclarke! If you would like a quit meter in your signature like many of us have, instructions are here. For a QuitTrain ticker, click the tab on the top of the page, and you can choose what you like and paste in your signature.!
  23. change mentor to quit buddy...
  24. I agree, Bakon....it is discouraging to lose track of newbies...and I like the idea of sponsors or mentors...but if newbies just never sign back in...what can we do? Okay...helper is mentor...first one to reply to newbie is initial mentor...can be changed later if rapport is better with someone else..
