  1. You are right on track Jewel to making this your permanent quit :) Everything you said above is pretty much right on for almost 2 months quit so just keep doing what you are doing now and take it a day at a time. It is a slow process but I'm sure you can see the difference between week one and now - right? That's how is goes - slowly but, the progress IS there and there is no denying that. Just wait till you are at 3 months, then 4 months ..... it gets better and easier all the time. You just need to put in the hard work consistently and before you know it; you will not even be able to imagine yourself as a smoker. Such pride in your accomplishment and in your ability to free yourself from this horrible addiction. Something to celebrate for so many reasons :)
  2. The warden & I ...... oops; I mean me & the wife, are going to Vegas Sunday for a few days just because we got a super deal on a flight/hotel package. I am also wondering what my reaction to being in heavy smoking areas will be. I suspect much the same as yours. This will also be my first long-haul flight experience since I quit smoking so there will be a lot of new experiences for me. Most of which will be pleasant I expect. It's interesting our take on things as smokers then as non-smokers. I'm just glad I won't have to go into that smoking room in the Vegas Airport. I'm pretty sure I went in there a couple of times last time I was there and even as a smoker .... it was disgusting as I recall LOL :)
  3. Worth a read for any newbies or lurkers out there!
  4. C -should be 2 Reci is 3
  5. Yes .... you missed the Eclipse Party!
  6. False (3 of 4). N.P. can speak more than one language?
  7. Let's bump this one up again because we have a few people around 1 month and 2 months. !st month is most challenging in some respects but the following months hold special challenges as well. Keep strengthening those quits. Remember - every battle you win makes you stronger and weakens the addiction!
  8. That's right Jayhawk. That 1st month is very tough but your done with that now and are through successfully. Just keep doing what you have been doing and stay ever vigilant as you strengthen that quit. It's a long journey for sure but the good news is that things will get gradually easier for you and you will have more time to start enjoying the many benefits of quitting :)
  9. If we're talking BBQ - yes :) Next Poster has been north of the Arctic Circle at least once in their life?
  10. You're getting through the worst of it anyway and that's a GREAT thing :) I have had irregular sleep patterns pretty much ever since quitting but not the sleep apnea or shortness of breath. Never really thought about why my sleep patterns have changed but could be something along the line of what you are referring to above? In any case, it's a bit of an annoyance but I wouldn't trade off for being a smoker again - that's for sure :) As you say, these things all pass sooner or later so we just hang in and do our work at staying quit.
  11. Have a great day Dee! Celebrate :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
