  8. I think the professional people (Dr. - Dentist and what ever) expect people to under-state the amount they smoke or drink therefore, if you are honest when asked by them, they figure you smoke or drink twice or three times what you are telling them so probably best to lie - by at least 1/2 ........ if not more Honest Doc .......I'm just a social drinker!

  11. We are all still attempting to quit. There isn't really a point in time when any of us can say " That's it - I have now successfully quit for ever!" Perhaps if you could give us more specifics on what you want and what you are trying to accomplish, people might be able to determine if they can help you. For example: 1. People who have started their quit attempt within the past .... day, week, 2 weeks or whatever. 2. I want the 2 people to be no more than 1 day apart, 1 week apart (or whatever) in their quit dates. 3. I want to record messages from each person to the other to determine what quit smoking symptoms they are both experiencing. 4. I want to determine the differences in individual's reactions to what they are experiencing. 5. I want to determine what quit smoking products people are or are not using and how effective any products might be for the individual. Something like that maybe, although not necessarily those specific details. Then people could then decide whether they can help you or not. From my own experience, the first month of a person's quit is the most dramatic in terms of quit symptoms experienced and the effect those symptoms have on an individual's daily life. Also, this period (1st month) probably has the highest relapse rate overall at least from what I have observed.

  22. Yeah, I was just going to comment on the porcine thing - lol We're always so undervalued
  23. Yes - don't look too far out just yet. That's the way to handle this. Don't worry though, you will reach that point when you just KNOW you have the upper hand on this thing. For me it was 5 or 6 months. Others are shorter and some are longer but if you just keep moving ahead, it WILL happen. Keep the faith, especially through the threes (three days - three months). You're right on schedule

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
