  3. No, heading down to the store and getting smokes will not make you feel better. That is the addiction messing with your mind. You will feel bad about throwing away 5 days smoke free and really, these early days are the toughest. Be proud of what you are doing as quitting smoking is an incredible thing to do. Keep focusing on the positive, like you are doing. Things will get better the longer you remain smoke free. You are doing great, Steve.
  4. Welcome to the board, CAQuitter. I'm sorry about your bronchitis but I'm glad you decided to quit smoking. There is a lot of valuable information here on this site as well as support from some awesome folks here. Take advantage of both as they can really help you stay smoke free.
  5. So glad you didn't smoke, Jo. That would have not made anything better, only much worse. Great job posting an SOS. Vent, yell, post, do whatever you have to do as long as you don't smoke.
  6. NOPE Happy Friday, everybody!

  11. I'm glad you found us, Jordan. Congrats again on 3 years smoke free. Just don't crash this site too, ok?!?!
  12. That's awesome, Jordan! Congrats on 3 years and for helping so many with their quits along the way!
  13. Great job, Sparkzzz! Congratulations!
  14. Congratulations Mollie! That is fantastic!
  15. Congratulations on an awesome quit, G!
  16. NOPE - Smoking sucks!
  17. Glad you found us, Gabes. I'm sorry for the rough SOS moment you had without the board but I'm glad you fought your way through it.
  18. That's what I figured as well, and it is really a shame. I do miss QSMB but I am grateful for this place. I am also grateful that this place is owned by a quitter (MarylandQuitter) who is passionate about helping others quit and is involved on this board. I got the sense that QSMB ownership abandoned that place a while back and it was unsettling to me over the past few months. MQ's presence and dedication to QuitTrain is very much appreciated by me.
  19. Welcome to the lido deck, Lin. I'm really thrilled for you. Thank you as well for giving back so much in helping others with their quits. I hope you celebrate big today.
  20. 9 months smoke free is awesome, G! Congratulations!
  21. Congratulations JB!
  22. I agree with the other posters, especially the ones who said that you should not listen to your doctors about not quitting smoking. That's pretty terrible advice from a doctor, actually. It may be hard to believe now but smoking actually adds to your stress and anxiety. Your initial days of a quit may be tough but eventually being smoke free should help alleviate anxiety. You will also be leading a much more healthier life. Now is a great time to quit smoking. Welcome to QuitTrain, Doug. It is great to have you here.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
