  1. My head is spinning, sorry. I´ve just remembered Archie (or Anthony?), of course, when I was about 10 or 11... I wanted to be Candy Candy. He must have been my first hearthrob. And can´t imagine him with hairy legs, I must admit.
  2. Can´t think of anything more unsexy than shaved legs under a kilt :(

I´m here on my own saying those words out loud "your way" and pissing myself. "garage" is particularly hilarious I have an anecdote regarding "vase". Back in 1997 I was working at a hotel reception in London and this lovely American lady client commented on the flowers we had on the desk, so I said the vase was an antique but pronounced it "veiz". The lady remarked "Oh, that´s how you pronounce it in Britain... "veiz" ". (I´m Spanish :P )
  5. I´m Spanish. I learnt English from a book... ;)
  6. That reminds me.... John Taylor!!! (Duran Duran) Those 80´s men... hahahahaha! How cute they look now!
  7. I wouldn´t know which one is which one.. . I was sorely disappointed when a friend told me George Michael was gay. I was like "No way! "...
  8. I thought Burrito was Bandito... I´m confused
  9. Thanks, Marti. You are right. You know. I know too... too bad that some times I fall in the dark hole and can´t see before my eyes. When I posted the "Junkie thinking #1" I thought I would relapse. I could see myself coming. However, the gum helped ease the physicality of the cravings, and then I was kept busy for over 2 hours driving around heavy traffic and cursing at the idiots that don´t know how to take roundabouts, and by the time I came back I felt really empowered. I did it! I didn´t do it! I kept my quit!. That´s what I have to remember. How good it feels after every little victory. Every morning my first thought is... "nobody wakes up and says "I´m glad I relapsed yesterday"". Hmmmm.... I´ll have to write this with eyeliner on my mirror, where I already have written "N.O.P.E." (red lip liner), "Do Not Smoke" (brown), "A smoker doesn´t smoke, not one, not ever" (blue) and "Smoking is Not an Option" (green).

This is phonetics, not translation, but funny nonetheless:
  11. This is what I enjoy for "grilling": Oil-free, non-stick, reaches really hot temperatures. It is great for vegetables, fish (sardines and cuttlefish specially), low-fat English breakfast... I couldn´t live without one. And if you are on a diet or vegetarian, I dare you try getting one. You´ll never look back.

  14. Rob Lowe. I wrapped up my school folders with his pictures. Ahhhhhhhhh..... I wouldn´t run away from him now, but I mean when he looked like this: (just to show my age a bit too :P )
  15. This quit of mine is proving to be a b**ch of a quit :sorry2: I´ve thrown away at least two perfectly easy-peasy quits this year. One of 6 weeks :cray:. I also threw away a rubbish quit at around Easter. One horrible month of constant craving day-after-day-hour-after-hour-day-and- night. I couldn´t put up with that any longer. I blamed it on the lack of preparation and on bad attitude at that time. So this time I´ve been getting myself prepared, reading, self-hypnotising, changing the chip... well I must have done something wrong, because this quit is far from easy-peasy. It is the second worst so far . I´m dwindling. Not as bad as to post this in the SOS forum, but bad enough to admit it here. I always do my best to appear positive and encourage other people, "fake it ´til you make it"... but some times I lose the connection to my "thinking" brain. I´m exhausted. And it is only day 5. .
  16. Still chewing. Only 2-3 gums a day to help me over the worst cravings. Still not 100% happy with this solution, but will stick to the gum until after the exam tomorrow. Then go cold turkey for the weekend and sleep it off if I need to. Thank you guys for the very helpful and educational responses. :give_heart:

  21. Hi Jay! :bye: Welcome onboard! I am only 3 days into my quit myself, after a few failed quits too. I´m confident I can do it. And so can you. You sound like you have a plan. Thursday it is then! :good: Keep posting. Make this your forever quit. You deserve it! :give_heart2:
  22. Wow! Sounds wonderful! ... and you´ll be able to enjoy the fresh air and all the beautiful scents of the Highlands! :good3: Enjoy your break!!!! And bring lots of pics :girl_wink:
  23. Phew!!!!! That was a close one. When I posted I was truly panicky. I even started to doubt myself and my quit. Brief thought, but scary. I´m back now. Very good class. I had the same gum I had in my office, and I haven´t been so calmed in the car for quite a while. Junkie thinking #2: Now is when I start considering that I have put nicotine back into my body and I have to start the detox again, so my quit suddenly is not as precious as before I put that gum in my mouth a few hours ago... More bullsh. I´m as quit as I was this morning, and I have used a tool that I had in my drawer, such as the nicogum, to help me get over a rough patch. Now it is back to cold turkey. Yeepee! If I wasn´t so exhausted I would jump up and down. :dance3: Thank you!!!!! :give_rose:
  24. Off to my driving. Chew chew chew Will be back in 3 hours.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
