  1. Famous day 3. Do you know how many of these bloody day 3´s I´ve been through in the last 3 months? And not many day 4´s I´m afraid. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!! I HAVE TO fight this. I HAVE TO. MIERDA! JODER!
  2. Thanks guys. I was "doing" cold turkey but I have chewed a nicorette for a while. Bummer it did help a bit. I´ll take a blister for my class. I don´t want an anxiety attack in the middle of the motorway at peak hour in mid-July. Shite. I´m paralised.
  3. Not an SOS but I thought this post would belong in this forum nonetheless. I have my driving class in one hour. I´m trying to finish my work for tomorrow on time, fretting fretting fretting... And it has hit me on the forehead: my driving exam is next Thursday!!!!!. "I have chosen the worst possible moment to quit smoking. These classes are massive stressors, and the exam will be even worse. I should have waited until after the exam. Maybe I should stop fighting the cravings for now and concentrate instead on passing the driving exam, I can quit after I´ve got my licence". Junkie thinking, huh? Even I can see it. Still one thing is to see it and a different thing is to dismiss it out-of-my-mind-to-never-bother-me-again... it IS bothering me... :girl_cray2: :girl_cray2: :girl_cray2: :girl_cray2: :girl_cray2:
  4. Awwww! :-)
  5. I like them both. I also have a pair of purple glasses.
  6. I used to smoke IN my office. Even after the ban. And the funny thing is I thought nobody would notice :wacko22: Not any more. N.O.P.E. :girl_dance:
  7. This conversation is going to a place where I will not have anything to say... so I´ll leave. Have a good night!/Morning/siesta wherever you are. Sex is good for you. And keeps the cravings away :good3: :yes3:
  8. bump for Tiff :P
  9. I didn´t smoke today. I went to the beach. Smelled cigarettes, smelled marihuana, smelled young fit men... hahahahahah. Had a swim and a g&t and came back to watch the match. Did it. Sat through the World Cup final as if butter wouldn´t melt in my mouth. Yeah sure! Fake it til you make it Good night everybody :bye: :lazy:
  10. Pleeeezeeee! I don´t know how to start a poll! :girl_crazy:
  11. Well done, mate!!!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
  12. Almost 3pm in Spain.... LUNCH TIME!!!!!!!!
  13. WOW! I admire you for doing the first week on your own. Well done, girl! :good: By now you know what works for you, so please use all the tools that are at your disposal. No need to explain or apologise. Whatever works for you. That sounds like closure. You got it! You are an inspiration. Please don´t carry on on your own. The flag went out when you gave that pack away. WELL DONE!!!! :girl_wink:
  14. At the pace I´m going I will still be here celebrating my 90 birthday... and hopefully I will be 46 years smober by then (or 45, or 43 but no fewer than that) ;) Good idea Bakon!
  15. that being part of a community, a group, a forum, pays. Day 2-3. Cleaning the house. I sit down every now and then and craaaaaaave.... like this ----> If I hadn´t joined the board I would have probably been on my way to the shop by now and wouldn´t be posting. I would have thought "oh well, it is just a 2-day quit, no big deal, my quit day is the 15th anyway, I´ll quit proper on the 15th"... But I joined the board and I know how my mind works in this. I would disappoint myself again and again as part of my self-doubt, lack of self-esteem trait. However I would chain myself to the bollard rather than disappoint Jimmy and the rest of you. Somebody once said that that line of thought was wrong. That I should quit for myself and myself only, and that it wasn´t fair or useful or clever to put the key to my success on somebody else´s shoulders. I disagreed then and I disagree now. If the fear of disappointing other people takes me to month 4 or month 6 or 2 years, who cares what is fair or clever. Whatever works. If it works for me I´m going to use it. :pardon:
  16. I will not smoke today. N.O.P.E. Neither will you... let´s dance instead! :party2: :dance2: :dance4: :party2:
  17. It´s too hot to do anything.

  18. Going to bed now. Exhausted and with a belly-ful of Chinese. I´ll sleep well tonight. I half-dozed all day but at the end I took the bike and met my ex for dinner. I rode there and back so I couldn´t drink much and I would fight cravings better. It worked. I am perfectly fine. But very sleepy. I´m so proud I have done a full day already. Mind over matter. Good evening, everybody. Mind your quits. :give_heart2:
  19. hahahahahahaha! THAT reminded me of THIS! vvvvvvvvvvv
  20. That´s great news! If it is diet and less stress you need.... you know what to do... off with the pop and in with the pilates (or yoga, or walks in the park....) You quit smoking, girl, you CAN DO ANYTHING! :good:
  21. Until we can afford ourselves a smarter phone, please let´s not lose sight of one another :friends:
  22. Smokey? Tyler!!!! Jeeezzzz.... I´m soooo behind! Hahahahaha! I must christen my tapeworm...

    Scary Avatars

Action, my friend, the Americans have perfected your British invention again... You did the "sandals with socks" outfit. Now move on for the "flip-flops with socks" It can only be an improvement. And no more blisters between the big toe and the second toe :good: ------------------------------------------------------------------ Edited to add: I eat my words
  24. Just in case it may help somebody... We have a Facebook page called "Quit Smoking Quit Train". It is fun to post FB jokes and keep an alternative means of communication. Also, I found an extra bonus to having that FB page: I have an old Blackberry. I can read the boards but can´t log on or reply. So I did a test in case I found myself in real trouble and needed to post an SOS (how many times have we heard "I wanted to SOS but I was away from my PC"). Well, if you have a Blackberry you can upload your "Facebook for Blackberry" app, and this gives you instant access to your FB account at all times, even if there is almost no wi-fi reception. It is great. I did a test and posted from my Blackberry straight on the Quit Smoking Quit Train, and I had a response within minutes. It would be an option for me. No excuses! Check it out... it may be an option for you too! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Quit-Smoking-Quit-Train/550498668401231?fref=ts

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
