  1. There will not be any negativity about other quit smoking message groups, their members, old fights etc. Anything that has happened at other support groups has nothing to do with this one and should be left in the past. Thanks for understanding.--MQ :)
  2. Netfix doesn't have anything beyond season 3!!! I wonder when Netflix will have season 4?
  3. Fantastic news, Marti! What you said... "Then I came home and read all your stories! Each one brought something to my resolve, so thank you for sharing, I feel pretty good now - as a non smoker. x" This is support at it's finest. You posting about it is paying it forward. When you have a community that is gelled together with one common goal, the chances of quitting smoking for good are so much better than trying to go at it alone. :)
  4. Hey MQ, This is the ghost from your smoking past. Remember how bad things got in October when you relapsed? How you thought a cigarette would help? Remember how much you hated it and didn't get a second of enjoyment or relief from it? Remember the guilt you felt when you looked at your kids, your wife, your parents? Take a minute and step inside so you can see your daughter walk down the aisle while you sit because you can't make it with your oxygen tank. Do you see how beautiful and happy your baby girl is? Do you wish you could hold her hand and give her away? Instead you must sit and watch as she looks at you with tears in her eyes. You're too weak to do anything but breathe. Your time left is short. You've wasted away the years and for what? Is this what you want? So, before you even consider lighting one of those BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP cigarettes, remember what I've shown you. Now get back to living and go grab your baby girl and tell her how much you love her. PS, I hope you never have to bother me again because I know you know the truth about smoking.
  5. If you haven't already created your blog, "choose create blog" and it will walk you through all the steps to create your blog. Once you do this, each time you click on the blog tab, all you have to do is click "add new entry" or click your blog to read it, edit it etc.
  6. People who are struggling or afraid to quit will benefit greatly from this. :)
  7. Season 3, episode 13 My favorite characters are Daryl and Michonne. Do you guys know how to use the spoiler tags? Click show.
  8. It works for me... Is anybody else having this issue?
  9. Awesome post, Bassman. This explains quite well why it can be more difficult to keep a quit than initially start one. It's all the triggers that you mention. The changing of the seasons is always a big one for me. It's the little things that you mentioned that when we experience them for the first time as a non-smoker seem HUGE because it's the good memories that we have from when we were smokers. We interlace the two together because smoking was a part of everything we did and often times, our lives revolved around that next cigarette. I guess we just have to separate the good things from our past from smoking because the good things had nothing to do with physical act of smoking. It's just that we had to smoke to keep feeding the addiction while we were experiencing all the wonderful things that life can bring. How better it is enjoying all of these things and not be weighted down with having to smoke and stinking everything up. Not to mention, being able to smell the crisp autumn air and enjoying the health benefits of not smoking. This post reminded of how important it is to remain aware of these triggers. Thanks, Bassman.
  10. Along with all the fine passengers, the tickets and coffee are free. No swill served on the Quit Train. B)
  11. Well Soozie, I guess it's easier to quit being a smoker than it is to quit being a klepto (lighter thief). hahahahaha :) That's awesome news because since you can be in a pub around smokers and not light up, there's no reason to ever smoke again. Job well done!! PS, you're now the official non-smoking lighter thief. If anybody board this train with a lighter, steal it! :) hehe
  12. Myself and the moderators are immediately alerted each time a post is created in this forum. Hopefully this will help safeguard against an SOS falling through the cracks, which is the LAST thing any of us want to happen.
  13. Fixed! Once you click the "blog" tab, hit the "create blog" and it will walk you through the set up process. :)
  14. Julie can put all of her stuff in her blog and it will be seen by more people and much easier organized. Lot's of cool things to do with a blog. I agree, Julie has a ton of knowledge to help people. Not much smoking either, about life in general. If you guys don't like the blog option we can set up something that works better for you. :)
  15. I opened up the Blog section of the site so any member who wants to keep their own quit journal or blog, has the ability to do so. You can link to threads etc. Lots of cool stuff to do with the blogs. Let me know if anybody has any issues creating any. All permissions should be in order. :)
  16. Let me double check it again and make sure something didn't revert back to a previous setting.
  17. Hi Craig! Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words. That blog and all that stuff on it used to be private and only viewable to myself. It was a way to hold myself accountable make sure that I read did something everyday to work on my quit when I was participating on any online support groups. Yeah, all that stuff to keep my mind busy. lol Again, thank you for your kind words. :)
  18. I know one person is having trouble getting it load and am curious if anybody else is experiencing any issues. Thanks!--MQ
  19. I would tell him to first just stop smoking and then point him here so we can all help him. Remove the desire smoke and it becomes much easier. Suggest Allen Carr etc. George, I think you know more than you think about quitting. I think your words of wisdom how you were able to quit will go a long way with your friend. He asked you because he wants your help. :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
